Melanie Fiona put her acting chops on display while shooting the cinematic video for “Wrong Side of a Love Song,” the Grammy-nominated single off her sophomore album The MF Life. Rap-Up TV was on set as the Canadian songbird and director Larenz Tate brought the love story to life.
In the powerful narrative, an emotional Melanie cried, laughed, fought, and flirted with her sexy co-star Omari Hardwick (For Colored Girls) while belting out the soulful ballad, produced by Jack Splash.
“It’s very raw and it’s acting, and it’s very, very truthful,” she said. “It was really a meeting of the minds and talents and artistry to bring this to you guys. We wanted to tell a powerful, powerful story.”
Melanie will be hitting the road again soon and has been recording her third album. “I really feel like it’s going to be the strongest body of work,” she said.
