Common Talks 'LUV,' Obama, and G.O.O.D. Music on '106 & Park'
Common the movie star paid a visit to “106 & Park” on Friday to promote his new film LUV. The rapper-turned-actor chatted with hosts Bow Wow and Paigion about his latest acting role, his early support for President Obama, performing at the White House (“It was turnt up”), and his G.O.O.D. Music family.
When asked which actor he’s learned the most from, he credited his American Gangster co-star Denzel Washington. “Part of it was the example he set of being on the set and conducting himself,” he said, while also acknowledging Morgan Freeman.
When it comes to G.O.O.D. Music, he has a great deal of admiration for his clique. “I get inspired ’cause they always write songs,” he said of Kanye, Pusha T, Big Sean, and the rest of the gang. “It’s good to be around talent like that and it’s fun.”
LUV is now open in select theaters. Common is also working on an EP, mixtape, and album for release this year.
