Rap-Up.com || Lil’ Kim Shoots ‘Jay-Z’ Video with Protégée Tiffany Foxx

Lil’ Kim was back in Brooklyn over the weekend to shoot a video for Tiffany Foxx’s single “Jay-Z,” on which she is featured. The Queen Bee rocked a custom Opening Ceremony varsity jacket as she filmed scenes with her blonde rap protégée, who is signed to her label International Rock Star Records.

Kimmy changed before getting in the passenger seat of a Maserati with her on-again boyfriend, Mr. Papers.

“Huge s/o to @LilKim u are nothing short of amazing! Luv u! #JAYZvideo is wrapped,” tweeted Tiffany following the all-day shoot.

Forget feuds for a second and imagine how great it would have been for Lil Kim to co-sign any other female rapper that came after her: Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea, Angel Haze, Lola Monroe, etc.

Unfortunately, Tiffany Foxx is definitely on the bottom of the totem pole in terms of producing any sort of buzz or dedicated fanbase. Lil Kim’s legacy overshadows everything about Foxx; none of the previous comments even mention her lol

Nicki is in her prime with her management/label team still intact and making the most $$$ and she still can’t go platinum with her second album.

Kim lost Biggie after her first album and still went platinum twice after even when her crew got dismantled.

You can’t compare apples to oranges. Kim doesn’t have a major label, manager or high-profile nicca under her feet and yall still checking her every effing move. Every money spent is out of her pocket and she’s doing it well. She’s still counting what Hardcore generated.

While Lil Kim is definitely a legend in her own right, comparing her sales to modern sales is willfully blind of the fact that sales were significantly higher in that day and age. Furthermore, you should note that Lil Kim’s term in jail was heavily publicized so she was in the news in addition to what I mentioned before about higher sales back then.

I’m not bashing Lil Kim, because like I said, she’s definitely done her part in hip hop, especially for female rappers, but making illogical statements doesn’t do her any favours and actually diminishes her accomplishments. If Lil Kim is that great, let her accomplishments speak for themselves. Bringing other artists into it makes you look like a bitter fan and makes Lil Kim’s successes seem dependent on other artists.
