Rap-Up.com || Eve Locks in Album Release Date

After several false starts, Eve is finally ready to make her return to music. The Philly raptress has announced an official release date for her first album in over a decade, Lip Lock.

Eve’s fourth album will arrive on May 14 featuring appearances from Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, Juicy J, and Chrisette Michele, with production from Claude Kelly, Swizz Beatz, and more.

“Lip Lock is the album I’ve always wanted to make and it represents me coming back into the game—lyrically locking it down. But I also like the title because it can be a play on words,” said Eve.

She will release the remix to the first single “She Bad Bad” today featuring Pusha T and Juicy J. Last night during the Big Brothers Big Sisters event in Washington, D.C., the pit bull in a skirt debuted her new single, “Make It Out This Town.”

Lip Lock marks Eve’s first album since leaving Interscope Records. Her last album, 2002’s Eve-Olution, peaked at No. 6 and spawned the hit single “Gangsta Lovin’” featuring Alicia Keys.

@TeamEVE, Nicki not having a Grammy means nothing the Grammy’s aren’t going anyway where anytime soon, shes only on her second album, she has plenty of time to put out quality music. Even legends like Diana Ross didnt win a Grammy until she was honored for lifetime achievement a few years ago. I dont recall Eve taking home a Grammy in the first two years of her mainstream career. Furthermore Nicki’s doing fabulous as a judge on idol or atleast Forbes, Fox News, Yahoo, USA today and plenty other critics with valued opinions think so, anonymous jokers on blog and social networking sites opinions hold no merit.

@Lola, A Grammy means everything to an artist who have worked as hard as Nicki. Even you agree her music isn’t QUALITY. Nicki is losing popularity whether you want to believe it or not. It would be have been a good look to get that “Diamonds” remix some airplay like they did with Kanye’s version. It just seems like the money isn’t behind her at this point. That’s the main reason she might not come back strong. This and that fact that she needs a hit record. Even a moderate hit like “Put It Down” like Brandy would help her get play on 106.
