Alicia Keys to Perform with Maroon 5 at Grammys

Alicia Keys and Adam Levine

Music’s biggest night just got bigger. In addition to just-added performer Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys will join Maroon 5 onstage at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards next month.

The 14-time Grammy winner will perform with Adam Levine and his band live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

Maroon 5 made the official announcement on Twitter, writing, “We’re excited to perform with @aliciakeys on @TheGRAMMYs Feb. 10 on @CBSTweet #TheWorldIsListening.”

This is not the first time the two have worked together. Alicia and Adam dueted on a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” during her MTV “Unplugged” set in 2005.

They join previously announced performers including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, The Black Keys, FUN., the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Carrie Underwood, Jack White, and Ed Sheeran, who will perform with Elton John.

Before the Grammys, Alicia will take the field at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVII.

@Katy, maybe the queen of sleeping w/ someone else’s husband. the title of “queen of r&b” was, is & ALWAYS will be mary j blige. are you mad that no one wants to see alicia sitting behind her keyboard singing “my herpes on fire”? at least w/ BEYONCE, you get a show darling not a snoozefest. girl bye!

@KaramelKisses, Child get your life with that mess that is the ONLY fall back that you haters have when it comes to Alicia, you are clearly a classless fool, no one is here for Beyonce, lip syncing, music stealing, schizo a** shaking. You Beyonce STANS are just as delusional and FAKE as she is, stop worshipping that hack. She does not make memorable music, her music is all about booty poppin and raunch. Alicia is a CLASSIC, her music from 10 years ago is still very relevant, is bootylicious classic music? Get your life.

@Jesse, ewww, you seem mad! does the truth hurt? nobody and i repeat nobody is checking for alicia keys. granted, she has some timeless songs, i.e. fallin’ will forever be one of my faves however she is a boring artist. when i watch an awards show i want to be entertained. say what you will about beyonce but she is a pro when it comes to shutting sh*t down. by the way, don’t let the pop singles that beyonce release fool you. she has amazing songs that are timeless as well i.e. satellites, you are my rock, that’s why you’re beautiful, halo, etc. and for future reference, bootylicious is a word in the dictionary. but i’m sure alicia is in there too under “homewrecker” or maybe “whore”. #thatisall

@KaramelKisses, For once I agree with you. Alicia needs to go away and think really hard about what she is doing and Mary will always be the Queen of HipHop/Soul. I feel like people are just hyping Alicia up for no reason. Her last album was bad, and ya’ll know it.

this year’s grammy show is shaping up to be top notch in terms of the talent. the past couple of years the ratings have been significantly lower than previous years. talent like justin timberlake, the black keys, mumford & sons, carrie underwood, alicia keys, maroon 5 & FUN will definitely get them some of the viewers back. now if only they can get beyonce … i have a feeling she will be there but they don’t want to tip their hand. thank you grammy’s 2013 for the LEGIT talent that you are scheduling for this year’s show!

    KaramelKisses Reply:

@♦CorCor♦, “if rihanna sings pour it up”? doesn’t that bitch talk throughout that entire song? the show is shaping up to be pretty good in terms of performers (w/ the exception of rihanna, my ears are already bleeding just thinking about hearing her attempt to sing).

@KaramelKisses, she had one of the best performances last year (according to critics and magazines) and has sounded fantastic at x factor when she did stay/ we found love and SNL

Rihanna has grammys and hundreds of awards that solidify her talent including a nomination for “best pop VOCAL”

    KaramelKisses Reply:

@b, @sass, a mind is a terrible thing to waste … a paragraph is 4 to 5 sentences in length. my statement was only 2 sentences idiot. please post this critically acclaimed performance from rihanna, i’ll wait … oops it doesn’t exist because NOTHING she does is “critically acclaimed” so get the f*ck out of here w/ that bullsh*t. To clarify, ri has 3 grammys (2 of which were the result of collabs w/ eminem & drake). Hundreds of awards? i think not and those my darling are FACTS. are you mad because not everyone has fallen for her curb appeal? i say what i want when i want so get off my d*ck!

    Lisa Reply:

@boom shaka laka, yep yes all shake our a**ses and stomp around the stage. Alicia is a quality artist and an awesome performer, there is absolutely nothing boring about her timeless music and her performances, her music will live on way past many of those that you all choose to worship. SMDH, if it’s not a** shaking on antics it’s boring to the children.

man alicia has really sold out..her music is not the same, and now she is performing with the obnoxious adam levine

    [Reply]

    Jesse Reply:

@yooo, Let’s all stay stagnant and never diversify, you people have no sense of what music and true musicians are all about, a true artist grow and develop, Alicia is not just a singer, she is a composer and writer and producer so her music evolves with her life experiences, that is what happens with true artist, her music is more grown and experienced, but everything that she does is classic, when some of you grow up, you will appreciate her music because it is timeless, SOLD OUT? how did she sell out her album is laced with hardcore R&B Girl and Fire is in no way a great example of what this new album is, this album is CORE Alicia it tells a soulfoul story. You will get it once you have lived, and guess what? the good news is that her music will still be around.

    Ursula Reply:

@Jesse, I know you wanna go hard for Alicia but GOF was not a good album and wasn’t up to par with her other lp’s. You can tell she really didn’t have any direction for it because she’s got a bunch of random songs and called it an album. Fire we make is about the best song on the album. and why is it called “Girl on Fire?” that doesn’t even represent half of the songs on there. It all seems so random,

    [Reply]

    Anita Reply:

@Ursula, Excuse me, You’re right “Girl On Fire” was not a good album, it was a GREAT album and it stands in nicely with her others. I think it’s one of her best albums yet, although I don’t think she’s EVER made a bad album. I’m still trying to figure out why some people feel it necessary to visit sites about people they don’t really care about and then waste their time to make negative comments about them. Why is that so necessary? I can understand if you like an artist but otherwise it just seems pretty silly and an absolutely unnecessary waste. So you don’t like her album, well no one said you had to listen to it.

You people cannot even speak in full sentences, with proper grammar, what makes you think that you qualify to critique an artist’s work or performance?(and, yes, this thread has spell checker, so use it!)
