Beyoncé Sings the National Anthem at Super Bowl Press Conference [Video]

Following the lip-syncing controversy at President Obama’s inauguration, Beyoncé silenced her haters by singing live during Thursday’s Super Bowl press conference. Bey walked on stage in a white dress and before even answering a question, she belted out the National Anthem live.

“Any questions?” she laughed after wowing with her rendition.

She also addressed the lip-syncing rumors once and for all. “I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track,” she told reporters. “I’m very proud of my performance.”

@really, ok the term lip singing is being incorrectly used because she did actually sing over her pre recorded track. There was an actual live mic and sound was actually coming from her therefore it was still a live performance. Also, whenever you go to a concert there are always backing tracks in every chorus of a song that performers sing over. Even sometimes when they have backup singers. Lets stop the hate, and move toward understanding a bit more.

Just saw this. So damn proud of her. Detractors have brown this whole thing out of proportion. What singer, especially one of her caliber, is going to want to sing live in those temperatures? Beyonce wasn’t pulling a Milli Vanilli, it was HER damn voice. Everyone not living under a rock knows the woman can sing!

Well, I attended President Obama’s inauguration with my boyfriend so I can attest to the fact that temperatures were very harsh and therefore do not fault Beyonce for having a pre-recorded track. I am still grateful for the opportunity of being able to see her, period (as we had a pretty decent view), so I’m not one of those bitching about what she did and did not do. Black people can be such crabs in a barrel sometimes.

The only people who have/had a problem with Beyonce’s singing at the inauguration where people who were looking for a reason to have a problem with her. We’ve seen this girl sing the national anthem live before at the Superbowl a few years back.

The sad thing about this is it’s her own people (black people) who are the biggest crabs in a bucket.

OMG not this again, another national anthem performance? Beyonce you lip-synced it over in the past everyone know you can sing live so what was the point of this performance at a conference? This was unnecessary! I know Beyonce and her team are increasing the anticipation to her Superbowl performance and the Superbowl itself but has been and still is a Beyonce overload soon we will overdose! This is why sometimes it’s bittersweet when she returns to the seen because she’s everywhere, what is she trying to do turns us off! There’s so much we can digest at a time not to mention the media and blogs making it worse!

I cannot wait until the Superbowl to be over smt i forgot she has that documentary and coming out with an album! I’m truly exhausted reading and hearing about her i mean she has become bigger than the show!

The problem is, no one questioned Beyonce’s ability to sing. This is why people could not understand why she lip-synched in the first place. Does she not get that??? I said it before and she said it in so many words: she didn’t make time to rehearse. People were upset about it all because since she didn’t put in the time to give an authentic performance, and when I say authentic I mean live vocals AND live music like everyone else did…she could have declined the invitation and allow someone else to do it. I don’t care if it’s common place in the industry. You can’t call yourself “Queen” or “King” and expect people to expect you to settle for common place antics. She just said in GQ magazine that she works harder than anyone she knows in the industry. Then of all the acts that performed for the President SHE should have been the main one giving an authentic performance. Any questions??
