Mariah Carey is following the yellow brick road. The pop diva has recorded a new song called “Almost Home” for Disney’s fantasy adventure film Oz The Great and Powerful.

“Almost Home” will be released as a single by Island Def Jam on February 19. LaChapelle, who previously directed Mariah’s video for “Loverboy” and photographed her album covers, describes the collaboration as “a duet between Mariah and the movie.”

“‘Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” said the “American Idol” judge. “It’s a feel-good record, evoking the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.”

“Almost Home” was produced by Mariah and Stargate and penned by Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray, Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Eriksen, and Carey. Island Def Jam plans to launch a promotional campaign to support the single, the video, and the film.

Oz The Great and Powerful arrives in theaters nationwide on March 8.
