“Best Urban Contemporary Album” …. really?

Also, I am perplexed as to how Frank did not win Best New Artist or Album of the Year. True, Mumford & Sons are good but their album paled in comparison to channel ORANGE and I’m a huge fan of those guys.

fun. winning Best New Artist is simply a tragedy, for obvious reasons.

But whatever. It was a great night and hopefully losing what was rightfully deserved will challenge him to pull a Michael Jackson (from Off The Wall’s snubbing to Thriller’s racking).

@Morgan, its funny how ppl were complaining just the other day how over hype frank is and ppl not giving a chance to grow and be great etc. but then yall complain when he doesnt win. I asure if he had won everything he was nominated for they would ppl flockin to complain here.

I was rooting for Miguel to win Urban Contemporary Album over Frank Ocean. I’m glad they both won though. Wow for Beyonce nabbing her 17th Grammy; especially for category she has never won before. That’s amazing.

I was pissed last year when J. Cole lost Best New Artist. But I’m even more pissed for Nas this year. SMFH. How on Earth is the continued snubbing of this man considered even remotely right?

    [Reply]

    Kyle Reply:

@Grant, I couldn’t agree with you more. I was banking on him finally get some love from the Grammy’s this year. Drake’s “Take Care” was a good album, don’t get me wrong but “Life Is Good” is hip-hop at its finest.

I still think nicki should have been nominated and win best hip hop collab with chris for right by your side. Jay, Ye and frank song was cool tho. rihanna we found love got ripped off if you ask me. And I think frank should have gotten new artist.

I`m glad that Frank didnt win all the nominations. Just one and not a main one. He is way too arrogant lately. Serves him right. This will knock him off a bit for his own good. I`m not a hater tho, I love his mixtape and some songs from the album.

I honestly feel like Miguel or Chris should’ve won over Frank Ocean. He is boring and slow and Channel Orange was too overhyped and overrated, Miguel should’ve won. Kaleidoscope Dream was perfect, “Adorn” alone was better than any song on Channel Orange in my opinion

But overall I’m glad Miguel, Rihanna and Taylor won an award each. Gotye at least beat Frank, that record was so creative and is still the greatest

    [Reply]

    Raj Reply:

@You Mad ‘Cause I Don’t D–k-Ride Ya Fave?, Frank deserved both of those awards, sit your hating ass down somewhere. Gotye’s award was much deserved. Stop rejoicing for him because “Frank lost.” And you’re a damn fool if you think Frank is boring. His music doesn’t appeal to simpletons like yourself. Chris Brown’s repetitive ass Fortune deserved nothing. I’m still shocked it garnered a nomination.

They robbed Tamia for sure. BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE – song & album were the best R&B thing offered in 2012. Such a shame this woman never gets the accolades she deserves!

Like WTF who in the damn world ist Robert Glasper Experiment?

    Miguel best R&B song… -.-”

They also let people win that will never be heard of again or the same old people (like Beyoncé – but yes LOVE ON TOP is on top, so I’m not disappointed this year, but was many years before).

    [Reply]

    Jessica Reply:

@Neutral Person, Agreed. I adore Beyonce, but “Love On Top” doesn’t resonate in my mind like “Beautiful Surprise” does. Tamia deserved that, absolutely.

Are the Grammy’s Brain damaged!? The biggest Rap legend alive still didn’t win a grammy. Nas is the only rapper who keeps it real always. Im a big fan of Yeezy and Jay but Daughters should have deserved that Grammy. Life is good was defently the best rap album of the year. THIS YEAR GRAMMY’S ARE JUST FUCKED UP WHEN IT’S ABOUT RAP

Drake winning best RAP album is one of the biggest jokes in Grammy history. How can they snub Nas’s classic album like that!? Giving Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. the R&B album last year over R. Kelly’s Love Letter shows these people are insane and don’t know music.

Man, sucks how Nas didn’t get Best Rap Album! Drake had a great album but I think Life Is Good was a better RAP album than Take Care. So stupid how a GREAT MC like Nas doesn’t have even have one Grammy. This award shows pretty wack still, but w/e…

    @K O B E,

Yep it’s who you know and Frank good friends with Jay-Z It’s sad how they build up a case about getting jumped by Chris Brown which will probably happened to Frank by someone else’s gang. His performance was so bad and that song was horrible that they had to use a clap tape because people was not clapping for him. If you notice when the camera went in on the audience very few clapped then the clap tape came on. He knew it.

    [Reply]

    Michelle M. Reply:

@K O B E, That has nothing to do with Drake, though. He made Take Care and went about his business. The outcome was obviously amazing and he deserved that Grammy. Everything else isn’t his fault.

  31. pia

I’m sorry but Frank Ocean’s CD is crap. People are saying online that Jay=Z & Def Jam bought those Grammys so that Frank can win. Did you notice when they won for that church in the wild song Jay took the Grammy and gave it to Frank no one else got the chance to hold it. This same thing was done for Rihanna using the fight & Chris Brown name to become the megastar that she is now. If you notice his performance Frank did not deserve that Grammy and people are saying the same thing all over net. Miguel should have won that award. Last night looking at Frank Ocean saying he this & he that and then I realized he’s singing about a man.

    [Reply]

    Shalamar Reply:

@pia, ummm Rihanna released the biggest selling album of her career two years prior to the Chris incident. Try again babe…

Justin Timberlake,Bruno Mars, Rihanna songs that they sang moved up the Main itunes chart fast. Where is Frank Ocean just creeping up Very slow on the itunes R&B chart. Maybe by the end of the day it should be off the R&B chart. Now if your saying that Frank Ocean CD is great then you must have alien ears or your just saying it because of the fact you hate Chris Brown. Notice Chris & Rihanna seems like they could care less about the Grammy but was there so the world could see them together.
