Chrisette Michele Covers Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’

Chrisette Michele

On the one-year anniversary of her passing, Chrisette Michele pays homage to Whitney Houston by covering her 1987 hit “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” as part of Billboard’s week-long tribute to the late legend. Accompanied by Guitar Slayer, the R&B songstress puts her own acoustic spin on the dance record.

“I study her DVDs,” said Chrisette. “Literally the way footballers take notes before the Super Bowl, I’ll watch a Whitney show before I go onstage.”

Chrisette’s fourth album Better is due this spring featuring the single “A Couple of Forevers.”

    Bitch you tried. The queen is looking down upon you! This heaux should spend some time trying to become a real “artist” by buying good weave and a decent outfit cuz those look like thrift shop rags tbh.

    @Christina Aguilera,

    A good weave and decent outfit make a “real artist?” You sound undereducated.
