Rap-Up.com || New Music: J. Cole f/ Miguel

After giving his fans five new songs as part of his Truly Yours collection, J. Cole continues spreading the love on Valentine’s Day.

The Roc Nation star drops “Power Trip,” the official first single off his sophomore album Born Sinner. The self-produced track finds him reuniting with the Grammy-winning Miguel, who he collaborated with on 2010’s “All I Want Is You.”

“I’ve always wanted to use my voice to shift culture, even if just a millimeter. This song is one of my strongest to date and I look forward to hearing fans reactions,” said Cole.

Born Sinner has also spawned the buzz single “Miss America.” The project was originally due January 28, but is awaiting a new release date.

I am so in love with this track. I feel I was in the minority of people who actually liked “Miss America,” but as a 1st single, this song is perfect. Like I said earlier, it will be a crime if J. Cole does not win a Grammy in 2014, just as it will if he and Miguel aren’t nominated for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” for this song. Soooo proud of him. Fayettnam Forever!

This is a really good song, I rocked with Miss America as a buzz single, and this is a dope song. In all honesty, I don’t think it’s gonna get a lot of radio play or do a lotta of damage on the charts, maybe the Hip-Hop/R&B charts and stations, I don’t think it’ll be big like Work Out became. I hope I’m wrong though…
