Rap-Up.com || Drake Declares Loyalty to Young Money After Split Rumors

The rumors can finally be put to rest. Drake has confirmed that he’s still signed to Young Money and doesn’t plan on going anywhere.

During an after-party for NBA All-Star Weekend, the Canadian MC got on the mic to wish his YMCMB boss Birdman a happy birthday and shut down reports that he’s jumping ship for Roc Nation.

“I just want to say as I’m standing in front of you tonight, proud as a man that’s about to be with Young Money-Cash Money for another I don’t know how many albums,” he said, adding, “YMCMB for life.”

Drake’s third album for Young Money, Nothing Was the Same, is due this summer featuring the single “Started From the Bottom.”

@J. V., kanye and Rihanna still under jay z signed to roc nation so how is it any different with nicki and drake staying loyal to the man that helped put them on?? Wayne put on drake and nicki at the height of his popularity and exposed them to the world. U don’t bite the hand that feeds u. Drake and nicki loyal something that people lack now adays.

I think it’s pretty admirable how loyal he is to that label. Because let’s be honest, drake is young money. Without drake that label wouldn’t be shit. Nicki, Tyga and Wayne are having issues selling. Drake is the money maker on that label and IMO that label is holding his growth back. This guy is one of the biggest artist in the world and has more talent than any other rapper today. Drugged out Wayne only making him look bad.

@Meme, last time I checked Wayne pulled 960k with his last album Carter 4 and Nicki sold more first wk albums & albums than all the dudes in 2012 so they good in fact I think she only one that went gold by December or was certified platnium at least so even her so called low sales was better than all the hiphop albums

Drake had a buzz way before he signed that contract with cash money. He has his own label now (OVO) therefore he could leave and be his own boss. Like pusha said.. You’re signed to a dude who is signed to many other dudes. If he left, it wouldn’t show any disloyalty because he would focus on his own label. If he signed to another label like Roc Nation, MMG or Good Music, then that would indeed show disloyalty

I don’t see how anyone in YM is holding drake back? Take care was all Drake with a few features here and There. He told the story he wanted to tell and even helped get Kendrick Lamars name out there. You guys talking about drake being held back but what about big Sean? Where he at? Drake is good where he’s at
