Rap-Up.com || VH1 Announces Cast for TLC Biopic

VH1 has found their crazy, sexy, and cool. The network has officially announced the roles of Left Eye, Chilli, and T-Boz in the upcoming TLC biopic Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story.

In the film, KeKe Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) will portray Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Lil Mama (“America’s Best Dance Crew”) will take on the role of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Drew Sidora (Step Up, “The Game”) has been cast as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.

MC Lyte previously revealed that Lil Mama had landed the role of the late Left Eye. “I’m gonna put a little bit of my concentration and focus on helping to uplift a sister who is talented, smart, witty, and just had her chances cut too short, and that’s Lil Mama ’cause she is a talented young lady,” said Lyte.

The full-length TV movie will explore the Grammy-winning trio’s rise to fame with their 1991 debut Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip and 1994’s groundbreaking album CrazySexyCool, which sold more than 22 million albums worldwide and made them one of the most successful female groups of all time.

Charles Stone III (Drumline, Paid in Full) will direct the biopic, which is penned by screenwriter Kate Lanier (Set It Off, Beauty Shop). The film is slated to begin production next month in Atlanta.

director of Paid in Full? screenwriter of Set it Off? Those two movies are classics so i know this will be great. i trust they know what they’re doing with the cast. My only problem is that i think they should’ve released in theatres, TLC were chart-topping, platinum selling grammy winning artists, they were huge

I CAN NOT WAIT! :)

Lil Mama was a good pick, Keke is ok, I think Kat Graham would have made a good Chilli.

The only problem I have is with Drew, not only are her and T Boz voice NOT alike but she’s not even the same SKIN tone as T-Boz.

But I really wish the best for all 3 of them, and I hope they kill it. I’m most excited about seeing Lil Mama as Lisa tho. :)

Keke Palmer was a perfect choice for Chilli. I think she kind of resembles Chilli in complexion. Plue she can sing, dance and everybody knows she can act. Keke is gonna be amazing. Lil Mama on the other hand, the jury is still out on that. I think Lauren London would have been a better choice for Left Eye.

I hope Drew lip sync T-Boz’s parts in TLC songs. T-Boz has a very distinctive voice. T-Boz always had a smooth, raspy deep singing voice. Her voice was what she made her stand out more in the group. I think T-Boz’s voice should be left alone for the movie.

I hope Vanessa L. Williams get cast as Pebbles, you know the 80s singer and LA Reid’s ex wife who discovered TLC and ripped them off. I think Vanessa William would be perfect for that role. Antonique Smith, who played Faith Evans in Biggie’s biopic, would also be a good choice for Pebbles as well.

Left is 100% black!! Its Lopes not Lopez!! Tatiana Ali is over 35 so how can she play Chilli, plus TLC are all short! So Keri couldnt play Tboz either and she’s also too old. They picked those girls cauae they can dance and act, oviously not cause they look like them. I wish they wouldve chosen unknown actors though.
