Eve Talks Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim Collaboration![]() Missy Elliott has female rap fans patiently waiting for her collaboration with Eve and Lil’ Kim. In the meantime, Eve has shared a few more details about the highly-anticipated record.
“It has a little reggae vibe in it, but it’s definitely hip-hop. The drums are crazy,” said the Philly rapper during her visit to Power 105.1. Missy previously teased the record, which will appear on her upcoming album. “I do have something special with us three—a fun, party record. I’ma keep it fun,” she told her fans. Eve is gearing up for the May 14 release of her oft-delayed album Lip Lock, which will feature appearances from Snoop Lion, Dawn Richard, Chrisette Michele, Pusha T, Juicy J, and Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta. “I have to make myself relevant to a new generation,” admitted Eve during the candid interview. Watch her dish on her comeback and more below. You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 60 CommentsLeave a Reply

Should be hot. Long as Eve and Kim focus on doing them and kit trying to grab these fickle Stan’s attention.
Missy always brings the heat production and artist wise. She makes music.
Kinda excited for this.

@Nicky, Nicki taught them to hate other female rappers unles she endorses them. That’s insecurity at it’s finest.
Nicki came out dissing the legends, not just Kim. Every accolade that Nicki accomplished, she starts with, “The Only Female Rapper to…” and that’s what started the divide.
The sad part is Nicki compares herself to female rappers from 10 years ago. That’s like Tamar Braxton comparing herself to Angela Winbush. Newsflash: Angela ain’t working now.

Stop acting like all Nicki fans are stupid and ignorant. I must say that there are a lot of stupid ones (like that “Queen Minaj” user) but most of us aren’t comparing Minaj with other rappers. I just do that when they are insulting my idol.

Is not about selling million records, thousands of certifications or slaying charts. I just want a good song, one that I like and I can hear and feel identified with the artist. I’m not asking Nicki to slay anything, I just want her amazing music.
I hope this song will be amazing, and I know it will be.

this is busted. these older female rappers need to embrace the new sound. Eve running her mouth about Azealia and Nicki on Hot 97. I dunno man, three irrelevant rappers making what will most likely be one irrelevant song.
PS: Eve has never been considered a great emcee, let alone a great female emcee. She needs to sit down. Just admire the new generation, stop trying to compete.

@Free Xone, CORRECT YOURSELF…. Eve has love for Azealia Banks… She doesnt have a problem with her she stated she is a fan of hers. Only thing she said was she reached out to her and her camp rejected the collab. But later on twitter Azealia apologized because she stated she did not get the message. You are creating a beef where there is none. And as far as Nicki is concerned Eve has also shown her love. In my opinion the younger generation seems to be more so anti toward past music artists because in your minds they are “washed up”.

@Free Zone are you serious? That’s Pepa from Salt N Pepa. So before you go around ignorantly name calling show some respect for an artist who’s had an incredibly enormous impact on hip hop music.
PLEASE do not call Missy washed up, she’s truly one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time. She’s innovative and fiercely creative. Sure her singles might have been a little disappointing — but I’m still extremely excited for new music. Missy has always been about UNITING female rappers and never about trash talking em. So stop.

@Y’all Dumb, I’m just stating facts from the sideline. I luvvvvvvED Missy too. I just think its time for youngins to shine. Missy is OBVIOUSLY so talented. I just wish she would work with younger stars. Working with these two? Its a shame, but the track will not soar. Eve needs to sit down, and Kim needs to spend sometime working on her flow again, cuz she isn’t sounding very good these days. So while thats happening, Missy needs to bring together the younger girls.
Thats all I’m saying.
BTW, Kim and Missy are royalty obviously.

@Free Xone, Why should it be Missy’s job to bring these “younger” female rappers together? They’re GROWN ass women and if they choose to act the way they act then that’s their problem.
Why should she work with Eve and Kim? Because that’s where the loyalty is! Missy and Kim have been friends since they 1st cameout. they’ve also been friends with Eve for a long time as well.
And to burst your bubble about the comment you made up top, Eve has never once said anything bad about Azealia or Nicki, she said she likes Azealia but Nicki just isn’t her cup of tea.
And the fact that you didn’t even know who Salt from “Salt N Pepa” was just shows how stupid you are, take your ass back to school.

She has shown alot of love to alot of other female artists that are new coming up. STOP TRYING TO FIND CONFLICT WHERE THERE IS NONE!!!!!!! Maybe you need to investigate before you speak.

@Free Xone, One more thing…. Stop trying to put an expiration date on when veteran artists should continue to shine and make MUSIC.. which is something they have a passion for… this mentality is the reason why there is such a division. He may not sell as much as the younger artists but he will appease his fans. All artists are not in it to become rich, especially if they are already rich, like Missy and LLCoolJ. I am really excited to hear this record. I was wondering what was going on as far as Missy’s music goes. “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat” were good in the sense that it was good to hear something new from Missy but I thought they were underwhelming in terms of what I know she’s capable of doing. I listened to them once and never was really interested in listening to them again. I hope she releases something new soon. I’m so ready for Missy and Eve to make a return to the rap game.
