Rap-Up.com || Video: Jhené Aiko – ‘Burning Man (3:16pm)’

Jhené Aiko lights up the night in the video for her remix to “3:16am.” The new version, entitled “Burning Man (3:16pm),” is a stark contrast from the dark original and features footage from her tour last year with Nas and Lauryn Hill.

In the feel-good visuals, the L.A. songstress and her friends gather around a bonfire on the beach and have fun until the sun comes up. She sports a viking hat and feathered headdress as she lights sparklers on the sand.

Jhené’s Def Jam debut is due this year. “It’s very introspective and just my feelings on tracks,” said the 24-year-old, who has worked with No I.D. (Kanye West, Nas), KeY Wane (“Amen”), the Fisticuffs, and Dot Da Genius (Kid Cudi). The project will also include collaborations with TDE’s Ab-Soul, Big Sean, and some surprise guests.

@CASSIE DOES THIS, im a big fan of Cassie ‘ but lets not lie jhene can actually sing ‘ her voice is soft & strong . Cassie’s is soft & weak . I have not seen a live good vocal performance in her whole career . Jhene is talented & can’t wait to see her rise also .

@CASSIE DOES THIS, I like Cassie and all, but she’s got hardly any emotion. And she hardly has the writing talent that Jhene has.

And unless you can link me to Cassie owning some vocals live, then there’s really no comparison. Jhene has a light voice, but she can actually utilize it.

I know i will get attacked for this but while there ard similarities in Jhene and Cassie’s voice there is something about the way Jhene uses her vocals very creatively. I think even though Jhene and Cassie have monotone voices, Jhene’s song writing skills and lyrics makes her stand out even with a soft voice similar to Cassie’s voice.

There’s no comparison between Jhene & Cassie. I’ve seen both of them perform live AND Jhene can actually sing. Cassie can’t sing. I’m sorry. Go to youtube and check out Jhene singing acapella and see if you can find Cassie doing the same thing. Period. @Illiana and @CASSIE DOES THIS…I don’t agree.
