Rap-Up.com || New Music: Brianna Perry – ‘Symphony No. 9: The B Collection’ [Mixtape]

After teasing with last fall’s prequel, female rap’s newest star Brianna Perry rolls out her full-length mixtape Symphony No. 9: The B Collection.

The Miami rap diva, also known as YRB (Young Rich Bandit), calls on some of hip-hop’s biggest stars for the 16 tracks, with appearances from Future, Trina, Pusha T, French Montana, Trey Songz, and T-Pain, plus production from Hit-Boy, Mike WiLL Made It, Lamb, and J-Rock.

“The project is very expressive,” the 21-year-old told Billboard. “You see growth in me musically, and just over time in my age and where I’m at in my life. … It’s just me blocking out everybody’s opinions and ideas of what I should sound like, what musical direction I should go in, how I should dress, everything! I just went in the studio with the mindset of ‘I’m doing my own thing.’”

Didn’t she release this like 6 months ago? I don’t understand why these bitches who are signed to major labels still drop mixtape after mixtape. Lola and Azealia are only dropping one but these other bitches like Brianna, Snow Product, ect need to get it together.

@Evanx212,Because that’s what you do in order to build up your brand as a hip hop artist. Most rappers male and female do this before they drop their debut album. Ima need you to educate yourself about the way the music industry works. You cant just drop an album. Its a process.

@Evanx212, LoLa Monroe is pregnant and is not signed to a major label as of yet. She is waiting until she has her baby to finally get the ball rolling on Lipstick N Pistols which is already slated to be released. Azealia Banks is releasing her debut single Yung Rapunxel on March 26 from her album Broke With Expensive Taste so she is prepping to drop her debut album. Brianna Perry is still relatively unknown to the masses even though she is signed she still has to release mixtapes and feed the streets to bring awareness to who she is before she even begins to drop her debut album. That is also the case with the other female emcees you mentioned. You cant just drop an album. Nobody will purchase it if they do not know who you are and what you are selling this is why artists release mixtapes to help so that people can become familiar with them. Big Sean, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Meek Mill, and a host of others all released MIXTAPES BEFORE dropping their debut albums. Its not uncommon to do that and there is a reason for it. You have to crawl before you walk. Success does not come overnight.
