Rap-Up.com || New Music: Beyoncé – ‘Bow Down / I Been On’

Bow down, bitches. Beyoncé is back. When you least expected it, the pop icon returns with snippets of two brand new songs. Queen B reclaims her throne on the Hit-Boy-produced “Bow Down,” telling the competition to have a seat.

“I took some time to live my life/ But don’t think I’m just his little wife/ Don’t get it twisted, get it twisted/ This my shit, bow down, bitches,” Mrs. Carter proclaims on the heavy-hitting anthem.

The song segues into another one called “I Been On,” helmed by Polow Da Don, Timbaland, and Planet VI. A thuggish B pays homage to her Houston roots, chopping and screwing her voice while shouting out H-town legends Willie D, Pimp C, and UGK.

“I heard your boo was talking lip/ I told my crew to smack that trick,” she raps, adding, “The capital B means I’m ’bout that life.”

Hear B like you’ve never heard her before.

I love Beyonce, but there is no defending this sound or making excuses for it, it’s simply hot garbage. 1st single or not, it’s a mess. It sounds so forced, this is not Beyonce idc what anybody says. This is Rihanna’s lane. I actually cringed while listening. It’s so embarrassing. Bey is too classy and old for this. All of this hype for her to come back with this mediocrity? is she on drugs? smh. And it’s not even about her boosting or bragging or because it’s hip-hop because “Ego” & “Diva” was everything. this is just horrible, there is no way around it. I take it this is a buzz song, and it did just that, but I have a feeling people (including the Obamas) will look at Bey completely different after this. She is in a position right now where she could bring back great quality R&B music. Her & Mariah, and they go releasing songs like this and Triumphant. what is going on.
