The Weeknd Announces New Album ‘Kiss Land’

The Weeknd

The Weeknd is taking listeners on another seductive journey. The Canadian crooner has announced Kiss Land as the title of his next album.

The 23-year-old took to Twitter on Sunday to reveal that Kiss Land will serve as the follow-up to last year’s Trilogy.

“gonna drop some information for the fans today,” he tweeted before revealing an image of the title spelled out in neon green.

The Weeknd released his Trilogy compilation in November featuring material off his three mixtapes—House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence. The album debuted at No. 4, selling 86,000 copies in its first week.

@Cassive, Read his interview in the Complex magazine. You’ll see why he named it that. He’s a genius. ;)

Part of me likes it because it’s short and sweet, but part of me thinks its a little too sweet.

@One, Suit yourself. At the end of the day, your boy drizzy is just another mainstream hip-hop music sellout that couldn’t continue doing something original (e.g. thank me later, so far gone type music). He’s just tryna prove he’s like the rest of the lame mainstream rappers, which he’s doing a great job so far. The Weeknd ain’t tryna prove himself to anyone but himself and is fans. XO>OVO simple math haha.

You guys calling him a Drake ripoff or whatever are crazy. He’s nothing like Drake, his tone and his style are completely different. And this is coming from a Drake (and a Weeknd) fan. So calm down, and take your ignorance somewhere else.

    Sarita Reply:

@Danielle, I agree. I never liked Drake like that but I wouldn’t go around saying that. They are both great artist and having The Weeknd come out with his own album now is going to blow all the haters minds!! I can’t wait till it drops. I’ve heard 2 songs off it and WOW is all I can say ;)

Creez at it’s best. Out with the old, in with the new. Drake old, The Weeknd completly brand new. And he pays homage to 80′s music. The best years in the UK, that is for movies and music.
Plus he’s still being spontaneous though because he smokes weed.

He uses the name “Kissland” as somewhat as a bit of a joke. If you read his interview with Complex Magazine, you’ll see what I’m talking about. I think it’s a great concept. We don’t know what to expect from this album but greatness and I know it will be that cause Abel has not disappointed us ;)
