Chris Brown Freestyles Over Drake’s ‘Started From the Bottom,’ Addresses ‘R.I.P.’ Diss

Chris Brown

Chris Brown has been an open book lately, so when he stopped by Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning” on Monday, Sway asked him about his Drake diss (“If you started from the bottom, gon’ and come out the closet”) on Young Jeezy’s “R.I.P. (Remix).”

“You can’t take me serious, I’m not a rapper,” said Breezy when asked if the lyrics were aimed at his rival. “It’s hip-hop. It’s not gon’ escalate. It’s like kiddie rap right now. I’d rather put my frustrations and whatever I gotta say out in my music ’cause I know nothin’ finna happen, so I say whatever I want. Rebuttals just gonna be stupid. I’m not a rapper, so you gon’ be stupid rapping back to a singer. But I’m gon’ keep comin’ ni**a, I don’t care.”

So he had no problem when Sway cued up Drizzy’s “Started From the Bottom” and had him rap over it. He even freestyled over the song again when he stopped by Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 show later in the day.

“It’s funny how that song was the one that was played. Fuck it. Why not?” tweeted Breezy.

Listen to both his freestyles below.

Shame. He wants to be in everyone’s face now of course because he’s releasing new music and wants people to purchase his mass confusion. Why anyone outside of teenage girls and the delusional would support someone who acts with no regard (and talks with none) is beyond fathomable.

I guess going back to imitating will grant you good graces.

@Michelle M., yeah i was a bit confused on that comment as well. he’s saying he can come at a rapper, but the actuall rapper would look stupid responding to him just because he’s a singer?….i’m guessing that’s his attempt to shut Drake down b4 Drake responded to him. well played..I guess.

Chris cool and stuff but he need to chill, like you maybe talking all this stuff, but yet he don’t know Drake got the satisfaction, that even you know his music is hot, two radio show have you free styling on his beat. While you yapping saying you doing what u want, Drake at home laughing at you…or probably doesn’t even ackwlondge.

Chris needs to stick too singing, because he’s defiantly not in Drake’s league when it comes to rapping. The fact that Drake didn’t respond to the wack diss (Yesss Wackkk Disss) is the perfect response to Chris. I like Chris, but I won’t be buying any of his music..

I do think the Chris & Rihanna both need to take about time off “especially Chris” & work that relationship out “In Private”..

Chris Brown is a talented singer, and a talented dancer. I like some of the songs that Chris Brown has made in the past, but Chris Brown needs to focus more on making great music, and promoting his music, instead of dissing Drake in interviews and dissing Drake in his freestyles over Drake’s music. Chris Brown’s last album “Fortune” got very bad, negative critical reviews from unbiased music critics, unbiased music fans, biased music critics, and biased music fans. There were some hardcore Chris Brown fans who loved the “Fortune” album, but there were also some hardcore Chris Brown fans who hated the “Fortune” album. Chris Brown’s Fortune album only sold 300,000 copies, if I’m correct. One of the main biggest reasons why Chris Brown’s last three albums have struggled to go certified gold, and certified platinum is because Chris Brown’s music hasn’t always been great, and Chris Brown gets into way too many controversies with the biased mainstream media. One of the negative sterotypes about Chris Brown is that Chris Brown is a bipolar asshole who makes bad music that only black people would listen to. I believe a music artist’s music should not be judged on their personalty, but only on their music. Chris Brown needs to make better music.

Drake doesn’t have the greatest personalty in the world, but the reason why Drake is selling records is because Drake makes great music. Drake’s Take Care album have sold either 1 million copies, or 2 million copies, been certfied platinum, and won a Grammy Award at the 2013 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album. Drake has been on top of hip hop, since he first came out, so Drake doesn’t even need to disrespect Chris Brown in a song. Chris Brown’s next album “X” might decide whether Chris Brown will have a very, long, great, music career, or a very, bad music career.

    [Reply]

    TRA Reply:

@REAL, I am not judging Chris Brown, I am not hating on Chris Brown, I am telling the unbiased truth. You sound stupid, and ignorant, especially since I’m not in my 30s yet. You don’t even know me personally, I ain’t no fat nerd, you sound vile and hateful. If you would had paid close attention to my comments, you would see that I said that I liked some of Chris Brown’s songs. Chris Brown’s Fortune album got a 38 percent on Metacritic. That’s not good at all. I said Chris Brown is a talented artist and should be selling more than 300,000 copies, that’s all. If you would do your research, you would see what I am talking about.

@TRA, I hate to say this but you people in America think that the world only revolves around you. Chris Brown is bigger than Drake in Europe. He is well known and very successful out here.

So you closed minded Americans might think he flopped over there but he selling lots in other parts of the world.

@Ryu, You are laboring under the delusion that America gives two fucks about Europeans.

@TRA, i agree with you .. chris brown need make great music and focus on great music instead of speaking about drake .. Exactly , chris sold 300,000 with his last albumm.. Moreover there are alot great competitors in the building like justin timberlake, miguel or franck ocean …
it’s the same for rihanna : everyone crictic her but she still make GREAT MUSIC too ..
Rihanna sold 3 million copies nowww!!!
So chrs brown need stop speaking about rihanna , drake, etc… you need great music that’s all!!!

Is he trying to diss both Drake & Frank Ocean in that line – “gon and come out the closet”

Assuming he’s dissing Frank Ocean, this delinquent son of a bitch has forgotten that Frank is ALSO a singer and is part of a crew who have already got a problem with Chris AND Drake isn’t just a rapper, he is also a crossover singer and can also say what the fuck he likes and has got rapping skill beyond reasonable doubt. JAY Z doesn’t like Chris Brown, where’s he gonna hide if they all decide to go at him?

Another stupid motherfucker just trying to get some attention before his lame ass shitbag album comes out to trick people into buying it expecting some controversy.
