Ciara Opens Up About Future: 'He's My Best Friend'

Ciara has always been private about her love life. But the R&B singer is not holding back when it comes to her new boo Future.

During an interview with Mina SayWhat on Philly’s Power 99, CiCi opened up about her relationship with the Atlanta rapper. “I’m happy. I’m with somebody that makes me feel very comfortable in this setting,” she gushed.

The decision to reveal more about her personal life was one that took time. “It’s just a whole new thing that’s happened within myself internally that’s kinda inspired me to do things differently,” she said. “I’ve been able to learn a lot over the past years of my life. I’ve tried things many different ways. I’m now in a place in my life where I’m so much more comfortable than I’ve ever been in my skin. I’ve learned that you gotta live your life for you. People are gonna have something to say no matter which way you do it.”

When they’re not in the studio, the couple enjoys just hanging out. “We do normal stuff. We go eat, go to the movies, and all that fun stuff. The simple moments is when I think you have the most fun.”

CiCi wants a family when the time is right. “He’s my best friend, so we talk about a lot of stuff,” she said. “At the right time, I’m looking forward to that.”

In addition to “Body Party,” the two have collaborated on a “good amount of records” off Ciara’s upcoming album One Woman Army, due June 4.

The album will also include at least one collaboration with Nicki Minaj. “This girl went in so hard on this one record. I think the girls are gonna love it, I think the dudes are gonna respect it,” she said.
