Rita Ora Covers ELLE’s Women in Music Issue

Rita Ora

Rita Ora is cute as a mouse on the cover of ELLE. The Roc Nation singer models Parisian couture for the magazine’s annual “Women in Music” issue.

In addition to the flashy headpieces, she glams it up in a pink tulle and feather gown by Chanel Haute Couture, tulle bustier dress by Dior Haute Couture, floral-painted organza dress by Valentino, and strapless bra by Calvin Klein.

In the issue, she chats about her music, the Spice Girls, and Jay-Z.

On never allowing her record label to dictate her style: “That should never be allowed! It’s like somebody telling you what to sing.”

On idolizing the Spice Girls: “I just remember watching them—not even meeting them—and I was completely mesmerized. It feels great to meet someone who is not human, but is.”

On meeting and eventually signing to Jay-Z: “I didn’t think in a million years that I’d fly to New York to meet one of the biggest music moguls of our time.”

The issue hits newsstands April 23. Check out more of Rita’s high-fashion looks below.

    @AAA, The point is that she represents a whole generation of women!
    Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger name it…hey are all the same!
    And people and especially young girls look up to them!

    She released one album that never did well in Europe and now she’s on the cover of ELLE for woman in music?? like reallt??..i guess jay z keeps paying to shove this girl done our throats. Where’s the music…and why don’t sign black girls and promo them to the tenth power???

    @BOUT DAT LIFE,

    False, her album went platinum in the UK, Australia, and the rest of Europe. She had 3 number 1 singles and a very successful solo tour.

    Jay-z does sign black girls. Bridget Kelly, Rihanna, Melandie Fiona,Solange, Willow Smith,etc are all black girls.

    Stop your mindless hating and get your facts straight.

    BOUT DAT LIFE Reply:

    @flawda, ..he only signed solange cause she’s bey sister..rihanna is not even fully black and is on LA RIED record label. Bridget is part Asian or hipasnic. and melonia fiona and all those other girls you mention,,,never got this type of promo when they first started out??..why rita??? Why won’t he sign a girl that looks like Kelly Rowland and promote her like this?? Why is rita getting special treatment?? when her album did so badly.

    @BOUT DAT LIFE,

    You are way too damn color struck, you sound very insecure. I’m guessing you’re dark skinned?

    Why the hell would he sign someone like Kelly Rowland complexion, the combat your insecurity?

    BOUT DAT LIFE Reply:

    @flawda, no boo i’m actually beyonce’s complexion…i just feel as tho the only reason jay z is pushing the girl so much is the simple fact that she’s white. i’m pretty sure if some black girl her ass would be drop by now I.E Teyanna Taylor

    @BOUT DAT LIFE, You sound ignorant as fuck.You act like jay z is giving her special treatment when Rihanna just did elle last month and jay z manages them both.And why does race even matter shes a girl who got really lucky and got signed by jay z cause she can sing,so why are you mad.

    @BOUT DAT LIFE,

    Shut the fuck up and get rid of your insecurities! You’re annoying as fuck.

    Rita is talented and has an unique style/ look and works her ass off and Jay-Z sees something in her. I doubt its because she’s white.

    If this was ELLE UK, I would understand. But I do not understand her being on a US magazine. I’m not saying that only US celebrities are allowed on these covers, but it’s not really fair to other artists.
    Whatever I guess.

    Kyle Reply:

    @aaliyah, you couldn’t have said it any better. Adele got the cover, Alicia Keys got the cover, and Rita Ora? I’m lost. What has she done in the states to land her a cover next to those other super successful artists?
