Video: Janelle Monáe f/ Erykah Badu - 'Q.U.E.E.N.'

Janelle Monáe jams with her best friend Erykah Badu in the funky fresh video for “Q.U.E.E.N.,” directed by Alan Ferguson. The rebellious ladies bring their collaboration to life in a living museum exhibit known as “Project Q.U.E.E.N.”

Janelle trades her tuxedo for a black-and-white dress, Givenchy heels, and tights, while her accomplice Badoula Oblongata walks a poodle and models avant-garde looks.

“I just love her. We call each other twins. I talk to her on the phone at least three or four times a week,” Janelle said of her BFF. “It was really inspired by our private conversation, dialogue that she and I have and continue to have. … She’s a strong woman, she’s an electric lady, she’s somebody that I look up to.”

The female anthem will appear on Janelle’s upcoming album The Electric Lady, due this summer.
