Justin Timberlake Announces ‘20/20 Experience’ Sequel Release Date

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake has more music to share with his fans this fall. The pop superstar has announced a September release date for the second part to The 20/20 Experience.

He took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal the September 30 release date. “The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2) Sept. 30th,” wrote J.T. on a piece of paper.

?uestlove of The Roots previously said that the project would drop in November with 10 new songs. “spoiler alert. 20/20 Vol 2 comes out in nov. (10 songs now…..10 songs later= 20 vision),” he wrote in a forum post.

The first installment of 20/20 is currently No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 1.5 million copies since its March release.

Timberlake will hit the road with Jay-Z on the “Legends of the Summer” tour, beginning July 17 in Toronto.

    Lil Wayne is going to be on the intro of this Album. It’s a song called Love Stricken.

    @Leslie T,

    Uhhhh… why? Lil Wayne is not worthy!

    @UHHH, lil wayne is more than worthy to be on anyone’s album

    ArchBishopOprah Reply:

    @Mrunhateable, umm no lil Wayne isn’t. Him, his cough syrup, and seizures can stay far away from this album as far as I’m concern.

    Definitely expecting another smash-success album. If his promotional run for Part 2 is just as good as the one for part run, then he’ll sell well over 1 Million the first week. I’m like how Justin’s doing 2 albums this year, it’s like he’s trying to make up for the 7 year hiatus he took. He doesn’t have to drop a new album every single year, but I hope he’ll stay more active musically from now on than he was from about 2008 through 2012.

    Okay, like, I’m all down for the new album release and all but really JT? Like is this really the real release date? All albums come out on a Tuesday and the 30th of September falls on a Monday. You know JT, even though I’ll still buy the album, however, I’ll believe it when I see it.

    @nick, Same here, but only if Pharrell goes back to his old style. I don’t want a monstrosity like Busta Rhyme’s “Twerk It”.

    I hope his songs are just as good as tha first installment. But tha first single is probably going to be a duet/ feat.

    [Reply]

    YEA Reply:

    @Dots, rihanna

    Dots Reply:

    @YEA, Why do you say that? That would be cool tho, Rehab was my favorite song during tha GGGB era.

    [Reply]

    KaramelKisses Reply:

    @YEA, if the first single from the second installment is a duet or feature, it will be w/ someone on par w/ his level of talent & boo boo rihanna isn’t even on the same planet. he wrote rehab & produced it (originally for another artist) but he wasn’t featured & there was no duet although he appeared in the video.

    freddiebulger Reply:

    @KaramelKisses, lmfao…clearly you make no sence you said same lable…if you recall justin & timbo signed to jays roc nation before the release of the first part….rihanna is also signed to jays roc nation…think before you speak!

    [Reply]

    KaramelKisses Reply:

    @freddiebulger, boo boo timberland signed a management deal w/ roc nation NOT justin timberlake. justin timberlake is w/ jive records still being managed by johnny wright, who has been w/ him for the past 10 years. so you should not only think before you speak but also before you type .. sence, lable? #themindisaterriblethingtowaste

    He needs a sequel because that first heap of garbage has no more potential for singles. It was all buzz and hype. Maybe he should ask Rihanna for advice.

    [Reply]

    JHP Reply:

    @Ursula, You think JT’s album was garbage, but Rihanna’s wasn’t? JT has way more natural singing talent than she does, can play instruments, he’s a better dancer, and he actually writes his own songs (as a matter a fact, he’s written songs for her). Not to mention the fact that his album sold in one week what it took hers about 5 months to sell. There’s definitely more potential singles on the album, and his first 2 are Top 5 Hits on the Hot 100.

    That’s sooner than I thought. I am excited to hear it. In all honesty, I liked the first installment but I haven’t listened to it as much as I thought. The material didn’t stick like the music on “Futuresex/Lovesounds” did. It’s like after I listened to it a few times, I was kind of over it.

    Cannot wait. He’s proof you don’t have to “go with the current sound” to sell big. Artists like Chris Brown, Usher and now Robin Thicke ( based off his new single) take note
