Alicia Keys Performs ‘Tears Always Win’ on ‘American Idol’

Alicia Keys

Now that the flames have died down, “Girl on Fire” Alicia Keys debuted her new single “Tears Always Win” on Thursday’s “American Idol” results show. While sitting behind the piano, Alicia belted out the Bruno Mars-penned song, which is the new pop single off her album Girl on Fire.

Alicia admitted to being nervous before taking the stage. “Looking at the audience is giving me butterflyz!!!” she tweeted. “Feels like I’m trying out for the show too!!!”

@Princejawsh, It’s definitely you! Alicia sounds and looks better than she ever has. That performance was beautiful and I could not tell in any way that she was nervous. She hit every note and seemed very relaxed. The piano playing and the singing was so very good and that beautiful smile at the end was stellar.

@Princejawsh, I don’t think she is losing her voice at all. One thing very few people realize is that Alicia Keys is a very BUSY woman. She is singing at all times, nearly EVERYDAY! Whether it’s shows that millions of people tune into, or not. She has a really strong voice, unlike many in the industry. If you would have said her voice sounded “tired”. I still wouldn’t have agreed with you. Because one thing about her, she gives it her all for EVERY performance! She was great.

@Princejawsh, It’s NOT just you.. She is and people need to stop trying to make excuses for it…

@Mm, If you’d ever witnessed a true live two hour performance of her, you would not say that, especially when it is something she does practically every night. People don’t have to make excuses, they just have to know the truth.

@Mm, Excuses? please that woman sings LIVE at every concert, no lip Syncing, there is a difference, she is no where near losing her voice. I went to her STWOFT and I will tell you 2 hours of spectacular is what you got, and not just the one I went too, but the reviews speak for themselves. I dare you to find 1 person that went to her U>S leg of the tour that will tell you it was not awesome and she was not 100 percent at all times. I dare you to find someone because I guarantee that you won’t.

Well Alicia is like Elton John …. always on the run……and they are human beings. There are stronger or weaker performances or more enthusastic ones or lesser ones…..don´t mix up real live artists with lip synchers like Madonna or Britney……
