New Music: Robin Thicke – ‘For the Rest of My Life’

For the Rest of My Life

Robin Thicke had some fun with Pharrell and T.I. on his hit “Blurred Lines,” but he returns to familiar territory on “For the Rest of My Life.” The tender love ballad, which is scheduled to hit iTunes on May 28, is destined to become a wedding anthem (Thicke has performed at weddings for Kim Kardashian and Michael Jordan). The romantic crooner reminisces about first laying eyes on his wife Paula Patton and knowing that she was the one.

“For the rest of my life you know I’m gonna be yours,” he sings in a falsetto.

“Blurred Lines” continues to shoot up the charts, while his album of the same name is due this summer.

@Ello, LMFAO. Yeah, that’s why it went darn near platinum in the first week of its release. Meanwhile, Robin can’t even see 300K first week sales. Don’t try it.

@Frankie, You can’t compare…. Justin Timberlake started off as a pop singer in a pop band and they had millions of fans. He eventually went solo but he still carried a lot of those fans. Also, Robin’s music is way more r&b.. Different crowds. You can’t compare..

It’s a little TOO laid back lol It’s close to being boring, but his vocals on the 2nd verse woke me back up.

Pretty good song, but it doesn’t have the classic feel as do so many other timeless tracks which are played at weddings. I mean, I know someone will choose this for a reception but “Always & Forever,” “Spend My Life With You” and even several modern-R&B songs have that special aspect to them.
