Behind the Video: Chris Brown f/ Aaliyah – ‘They Don’t Know’

Chris Brown

Chris Brown took it to the ‘hood while shooting the video for his new single “They Don’t Know” featuring Aaliyah. A shirtless Breezy stormed 60th Street and Cedar Block in L.A. with his gang and kicked it with some kids in the neighborhood in the behind-the-scenes footage.

He later changed into an Angels jersey as his crew stood behind him holding candles in a dimly-lit warehouse. He put on his director’s hat once again, calling the shots alongside his Riveting Entertainment team.

“[I'm] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from,” he said.

The song, which appears on his upcoming album X (July 16), was originally set to drop last week, but it has since been delayed.

“Hope this new single inspires change and unity! Life is a Gift. I love doing what I do. All the little things count!” he tweeted.

Hit the block with Breezy.

These hoes need to leave Aaliyah’s vocals alone. Damn, let the woman rest!

@Chance, I’m not a die hard fan of brezzy but I am for a Aaliyah. So if artist don’t pay her homage how can they still be relevant ten years from now???
She wouldn’t! The collabo is great!

@ME, I hate u for this statement. If you were a diehard Aaliyah fan like you claim to be you wouldn’t care about how relevant she is to others. She will always be relevant. She doesn’t need breezy or drake or anyone. I hate this collab

Still pretending he’s from the hood when he came from the suburbs, I see. Yawn.

    Ghost Reply:

@Cranberry, he’s from the country, not the suburbs you dumb fuck. Do your damn homework before you decide to throw salt at someone & you don’t have a clue at what the hell you’re talking about.

    [Reply]

    Ghost Reply:

@Cranberry, oh & by the way, he used to live in Harlem, which is considered the hood

    [Reply]

    Wole Reply:

@Ghost, lol. I live in Harlem. But everything is alright for me. Does that mean I’m from the hood?

Sounds great. But my issue with artist featuring deceased artists on their track is the fact if they were still alive they could be total for or against working with the artist.

I am extremely angry that he is using Aaliyah’s vocals however what is even more pathetic is the fact that he is using Job B’s sample smh! Find some originality Chris Brown… like you are imitating Michael Jackson, Usher and every other artist in between! Just find yourself because you lost it dude!

I was afraid there is gonna be very little Chris Brown in it and it’s gonna be more like Aaliyah ft Chris Brown but I see that’s not the case. Sounds really nice. Hope he releases it finally.

Lord Eeveryone Hates Chris!!! Sad..especially when all people have to go on is what the blogs and media choose to report about him…I will be supporting him this go around because I’m a fan of his talent and music, I don’t know him personally so I will not state my opinion about his personality until I meet him and hopefully have a convo with him. Keep praying Breezy, God has your back.
