Jay-Z Rewrites the Rules in 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' Promo Video

Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Rick Rubin, and Jay-Z

With nine days to go until his album Magna Carta Holy Grail drops, Jay-Z teases with another video promo as part of his partnership with Samsung Mobile.

In the latest clip, the hip-hop mogul speaks to his collaborators and confidants Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Rubin about rewriting the rules. “We don’t have any rules, everyone’s trying to figure it out. That’s why the Internet is like the wild west. We need to write the new rules for what’s going on right now,” explains Mr. Carter.

He hopes that come July 4 everyone will be listening to the album at the same time. “The whole thing I wanted to do was have that fireplace or that radio moment where everyone’s just sitting in front of the thing listening to an album. I want everyone to hear the album at one time.”

The Magna Carta app is now available to download at Google Play. On July 4, Samsung will release 1 million free copies to Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4, and Note II owners.
