Kelly Rowland Performs ‘This Is Love’ on ‘Katie’

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland talked a good game with Katie Couric during her visit to her daytime talk show on Wednesday. The “Dirty Laundry” singer spoke about her confessional song and a potential Destiny’s Child reunion.

On The-Dream-penned song, she sings about an abusive ex, but she doesn’t harbor any ill will. “We were two different people back then,” she said. “I’m in such a different space and so is he and he’s a good guy and I’m really happy for him the way his life turned out. My life isn’t so bad either.”

As for DC, Beyoncé, Michelle, and Kelly have no immediate plans for a reunion as they are all busy with their solo projects.

She also performed her tender ballad “This Is Love” off her new album Talk a Good Game, which debuted at No. 4 with 68,000.

    Flawless performance. But why is she performing a different song everytime. She should be focusing on promoting a single. I’m kinda confused, is street life a single, is this song going to be a single?

    @bEEzy69, Yeah I agree. What’s going on with “Dirty Laundry”? The video is done and she has been teasing us with clips so why not just premiere it? The album is out so I don’t know what her team is waiting for.

    @Kyle, it’s called “marketing the album”. Justin timberlake did the same thing when his last album dropped. It gives the casual listener a chance to see what they’re all about in hopes that they will purchase the album.

    @bEEzy69, I think that she is trying to show the diversity of her album. She has performed different songs for different demographics. She is really smart ! Well, at least that is what I think

    @Lululove, She should do fine since she will not be sharing the market with any big name hip-hop artists like Kelly did. But this article is not about Ciara at the moment, it is about Kelly Rowland, so I fail to see the logic in the comment. Kelly will still be selling albums in July as well.

    @PROF, Jay-Z is releasing his album the same week as Ciara so she will be the biggest loser lol I’d know why these Ciara Stan’s are trying to act like she isn’t the biggest commercial failure in the industry.

    Who sells 37k during the Christmas holiday?!

    Hey Rap-Up, how come you show Kelly love when she appears on Katie, but not Ashanti? She performed “Never Should Have” not too long ago on the show too. You guys are slipping, nonetheless good interview.

    I love her so much now. She’s an amazing person. I love how she’s so open about everything and showing that she’s human and went through certain situations just like the rest of us. You can tell she’s happier, she has this aura and glow around her. I’m here for it, love ya gurl, keep doin ya thang. Xo.

    @Minlo,
    yo … if you search ashanti you’ll see rap-up posted her performance of “Never Should Have” abour a week ago. Sheesh this post is about Rowland. stick to homegirl cause tbh she on the grind and her sales are quite good, a 10% drop versus her previous album is good compared to kanye’s like 30% drop between his last two albums and considering homegirl didnt have a hit single this time
