Chris Brown Donates Sneakers to L.A. Youth

Chris Brown

Chris Brown spent his holiday weekend giving back. The “Fine China” singer donated sneakers to kids at Crenshaw High School during the “WE US: Walk Everywhere in Unity’s Shoes” event in L.A. on Saturday. Breezy shared a laugh with his young fans as he posed for photos.

As part of his Unity campaign, Chris works with the L.A. mayor’s office and gang reduction organizations. He gave away 1,000 pairs of Reeboks to youth in Compton and Baldwin Village to remind young people that “whenever and whenever they walk, we are a united community.”

He called on Team Breezy L.A. to help him sort boxes and pass out shoes. They stayed up until 1 a.m. packing the truck.

“Thank you for allowing me to continue to inspire change in the world. Today was a great step forward!” tweeted Chris.

@diyana, This lil a-hole thinks he is gaining fans with black american kids, who will turn around and buy his music. That is the only reason for his sneaker give away.

If he truly loved his american community he would ONLY date inside his AMERICAN black community, and marry a black american girl to keep his wealth in the community.

Charity aint sh8t. How many asians buy his music? How many caribbeans buy his music? And yet he thinks their women are the only ones worthwhile to date eventhough they will ultimately destroy him. American Black Christian girls arent his cup of tea. He is stupid and going down hill with the demons he associates himself with.

@yeetv, I have a problem with American negroes pretending their are no ethnic issues, while every other minority group freely exercises their rights to only help their own ethnic group, and then tell dumb american negroes like chris brown that they cant practice the same thing with their own american people and he falls for it.

He is a bad role model for young black american boys with that Fine China video, which opens up with 3rd world asian parents who just stepped out of the rice paddy, telling their daughter that the famous rich black american star is not good enough for her po azz to date. Just cause he wants to be stupid and let po folks belittle him, we dont need our Black American boys taking that kind of abuse, that saps them of their pride and dignity.

@tara, you’re making a racial issue out of him, and women, over a post with him giving away shoes…. to BLACK KIDS. you said he’s doing that to get blacks to buy his records. HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT!? he couldve very well did it by the kindness of his heart. Fine China video…. you’re making ridiculously racist remarks over his choice and style of video. did you talk about the aaliyah one where hes in the hood with kids, bloods and crips? again, your racial issues has nothing to do with chris brown and you need to address that at some point in your life. because you’re clearly misguided in your outlook.

@yeetv, Why would anyone waste time promoting a VERY DEAD Aaliyah? Her parents should sue that a-hole. We have all these living black american beautiful talented girls and he is promoting a dead one, and I have issues??? You crazy.

Africans murder each other by the millions strictly based on their tribal affiliations, and you think they like your american azz? Better wake up and smell the coffee fool.

    yeetv Reply:

@tara, first of all…. aaliyah doesnt need “promotion”. shes a timeless figure. its homage in a sense and youre pretty much saying musicians are to only “promote” those that are alive and their same color by you continuing to bring up blacks. leaving out the fact hes in the hood giving away shoes tooooooo…. blacks. so yes you have some serious internal racial issues that again has nothing to do with CB and i pray you overcome it because you sound fucking stupid with all of this race shit. or maybe youre just some bored ass troll. which is cool too i guess

Were you genuine or did you do it for recognition purposes? If not, why

I guess maybe he mentions it on twitter because the only thing the media focus on is the negativity, so why not mention it, plus a lot of celebrities plug their charities, this one is his so why not! @Mel, Giving back your legacy WEALTH through a marriage keeps the money in your AMERICAN community for a lifetime. Giving a charity sneaker takes care of a person’s feet for a season. When you marry outside your race and your AMERICAN community you are transfering the wealth to those who wouldn’t give an American a glass of water in a desert. Name me one foreign black or asian who has married an american black woman and transferred his wealth into a black american family????

If you are dumb enough to believe a gimmick like nicki minaj has singing, dancing, acting, and modeling talent like the great beauty Ciara, then u r too much of a fool to talk to. REAL talent last a lifetime, but a gimmick lasts for a season. When the fool Chris sits in his rocking chair and looks back on his body of work, I guarantee you he wont be proud of no talent nicki minaj in his videos.

Look how they repaid him for helping them, instead of black american entertainers. Ciara is one of the few entertainers who did not judge him after the skank Rihanna beat down. She never spoke a bad word against him when the whole world was giving this negro a mental beat down. Intelligent people know how to show gratitude for those that help them, not those who hate them.

Last summer he donated school supplies to a lot of children. He also donates and volunteers at different centers that do those things you’re talking about. Don’t base your opinion off of this one act of kindness they choose to report on. And even if this was the only thing he did its more than he has to do and more than others are doing.

@twista, it don’t make you a hater, good points, yet I have to believe, well make that know that there are also without shoes too. I work at an after school program, we serve meals, tutor etc., the children that come to the program I’m sure won’t eat again until we serve breakfast the next morning, also we give out clothes, hygiene products. But, sometimes the look on those kids face at getting a decent pair of used shoes, jeans and lord forbid if someone donated some old Jordan’s is priceless, it’s like forget the food, jeans, coat, I have some Jordan’s. I still like that he is trying, he’s involved with other charities, some that are providing the things you mention, I have been keeping up with him since coming on the scene.

Regardless of what he does good or bad, it’s always negativity.
