New Music: Robin Thicke – ‘Take It Easy on Me’

Blurred Lines

Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” is still the No. 1 song in the country, and he’s not backing down anytime soon. The R&B crooner works up a sweat on “Take It Easy on Me,” a synth-heavy club banger produced by Timbaland, which appears on his new album Blurred Lines, due July 30 in the U.S.

The sex-driven number includes lines like “I’ll rip through all your fancy clothes/ I want to shop for your underwear” and “When I look right through your dress, I want your cherry pie.”

Head to the dance floor for some fun with Thicke.

I like this. A lil JT (don’t kill me if you don’t like that comparison) but with a lil more soul

Sounds like RT is stepping into JT’s territory. Thicke has ALWAYS worked with Pharrell and now all of a sudden he’s linking up with Timbo? I’m not here for it. The track SCREAMS JT (the vocal arrangement, beat breakdown) but just might be another hit for him. I’m excited to see the RT vs JT “white guy singing blues” competition unfold. Two great vocalists who helped usher in the new era of modern day motown mixed with soul. Personally prefer JT tho.

@Sheen, lol. No, Justin tries it. Robin’s high-notes, runs, beats, and overall technique is that of a true soul singer. Justin is just a white guy trying to do R&B. He sounds like a child next to Robin Thicke. Justin Timberlake copies and mimics Michael Jackson while Robin Thicke is true to himself and his talent. To be honest, nothing Justin has done since 2006 has given me life, its the same Timbo production over and over; you can sing the lyrics of his old songs over the instrumentals of his new ones and not miss a beat. My point is proven because this track is produced by Timbo and yet it is fresh, lively, and gets you moving. Clearly Timbo isn’t the problem. Don;t care what you say, Justin’s music isn’t danceable in any way….there is no Ummmph! Besides J. Cole, Justin Timberlake is the most overrated artist ever. You mean to tell me you don;t put an album out for 10 years and you come out with a watered down version of Future/Sex LoveSounds???? Girl bye!
