This is great for Iggy! Beyonce just keeps making the right moves for opening acts. I’m a little disappointed not to have seen her live at the Ft. Lauderdale show a few weeks back, but it’s all good, as Luke James showed serious potential. Again, can’t credit Beyonce enough for giving real artists on the come up a platform to shine!

@Daniel, yeah, because beyonce definitely wasn’t gonna pick another black woman to open her show. Like, you couldn’t get Azealia banks ?

I’m happy for her. Wish she did the US leg instead of that irrelevant ass no body, would have made the show 10x better. Azealia Banks would have been more of a match for her fan base though

@Nick, Please find a seat. Luke James is an amazing vocalist and performer that you are ignorant to. Let’s not forget Beyonce chooses her opening acts, so basically you’re saying Beyonce doesn’t have good taste.

Good for her. Wish I could’ve seen her live during the North American tour, but it’s all good, as Luke James surprised the hell out of me. Beyonce deserves credit for giving these up and coming artists time to shine!

  11. Chloé Magnolia

No, Bey, what the hell? People are really pushing this chick. She can’t rap. Luke James actually had some skills worth opening for such a legendary woman. First Nas, now Beyoncé… But of course Iggy is over the moon. I would be, too. Well, Iggs, get yours. I ain’t with it, though. What happened to artists paying their dues before they get to reap the benefits?

    [Reply]

    Rick Reply:

@Chloé Magnolia, She’s giving less established artist a chance to be seen and heard. Not may artist get the chance to have that type of exposure and Bey is giving back by giving Iggy the opportunity. Pulse Iggy is more appealing to the market overseas that she will be performing in front of. And she is the opening act aint like the girl co-headlining wit Bey.

    [Reply]

    Chloé Magnolia Reply:

I understand that. I’m not necessarily surprised, but I do find it questionable. So many people would kill to open for Beyoncé. So many rappers would love to share a stage with Nas. It’s not Iggy who is the problem, like she said, her success is not going to prevent someone else from being succesful, but it’s these people who completely ignore the people who are great at what they do and go with the less competent artist, just because of their image. I heard they’re not even that supportive of her in Australia. But like I said, Iggy needs to get hers. I’m not looking funny at any woman who’s taking the opportunities handed to her with both hands, even when I think she doesn’t deserve those opportunities.

    Chloé Magnolia Reply:

Plus, we’re not talking about orphans that need to be saved. We’re talking about talent. I feel like we’re leaning more and more towards a culture that’s based on doing favors for each other, just for the sake of this superficial sense of solidarity. It’s annoying for the people who are actually interested in the content of the music to get these artists shoved down their throats. I just don’t understand what it’s all for…

Listen you yeast infection hating dirty draws period stains still fucking your man ass BITCHES! I said BITCHES! Iggy Azalea could rap, if you don’t like her accent thats fine but she could rap! Listen to her word play, metaphors and the creative punchlines she has she’s nice! Her mixtape alone was better than EVE Whole Album! I fuck with EVE but lil White girl schooled you! She is signed to Def Jam/Mercury Beyonce is friends with the label and Mercury is UK Pop so thats why she’s opening! Rap is Rap theres so many styles and Im glad NICKI MINAJ has another girl in the same Area as her! Iggy Album drops in September and maybe now NICKI Could Rap Better since Other Bitches are now making Rap Albums and on tour with Beyonce and about to eat YO Seat! You don’t know it now but the industry needs an Iggy! Maybe this inspire other artist to help other females! The Brianna Perry’s, The Snow Tha Products’ The Azealia Banks, The Diamondatl’s , The Asia Sparks, The Trina’s, I hate that its only one female known worldwide as a Female Rapper Shit someone even go get Kim @TheWhatsNews

This is NOTHING if it’s not going to help her in the U.S markets. Why do she need to join someone elses tour to be relevant in her home country. Anyways, Nicki set the bar with BRITNEY so “everytime a door opens for me that means you
Just got a better opportunity to do you.” Thank you QUEEN NICKI for opening these doors.

    [Reply]

    Iconic Iggy Reply:

@channel_ROMAN, Its not just about the U.S. The Stares are important but Iggy is gunning for international appeal. She’s already got the U.K and Scotland and is growing in Ireland and Belgium. Australia would be a nice addition considering she’s from there. This is the perfect promo to get Aussies behind her.

Not sure why people are mad. Iggy is winning. You can call her talentless and undeserving all you want but you can’t knock her hustle or drive. She’s going to be huge.

    [Reply]

    A Bad Bitch Reply:

@Iconic Iggy, Winning what? Her EP flopped. Azealia’s EP is Gold in Australia. Iggy’s EP isn’t gold.

    [Reply]

  19. dylanxcx

It should have been Azealia Banks since Azealia did a song with Beyonce for her album. Plus Beyonce is innovative with her sound like Azealia where as Iggy is pretty basic wanna be dance pop trap.

    [Reply]

    Iconic Iggy Reply:

@dylanxcx, The delusion is strong. That Beyonce collabo isn’t happening, deal with it and move on. And there is nothing innovative about Azealia’s sound. Her mix tape, EP, and singles all sound exactly the same. No growth, no experimentation, just the same recycled lyrics with the same recycled beats. Ignorant Art, Glory, and TrapGold all have different sounds and styles and themes. That is innovation

    [Reply]

    Chloé Magnolia Reply:

This is a genuine question, not an insult: what exactly do you find innovative about Iggy’s projects so far? And what other rap artists do you listen to? I’m trying to have a dialogue, not cause conflict.

    [Reply]

    Wtf Reply:

@Chloé Magnolia, I completely second this! I wanna know what these people that claim so defiantly that Iggy is ‘unique’ consider to be just that? And who exactly do y’all that’s claiming this can be classed as hip hop listen to because when you’ve grown up listening to Big L, Nas, Kim, Ice Cube her music is indisputably NOT the same genre, nor do her mixtapes show any sort of growth except becoming more and more mainstream (can that be classed as growth?). I’ve tried to listen to her music and every song sounds put on. I can thing of much more deserving, more sincere rappers that have earned their creative right to be on the same stage as musical legends such as Nas and Beyonce. Sure, Iggy must be pleased but I just do not understand why she is being shoved down our throats. I find her extremely embarrassing, like she’s embracing stereotypes

    [Reply]

    Chloé Magnolia Reply:

Nice to hear someone who feels exactly the same way. The thing is, I like Iggy Azalea. I’ve seen some of her interviews and she is not an obnoxious tramp. She’s actually quite an intelligent person and she is charismatic, but none of that shines through in her music. None of it. Iggy is just doing her and I get that, but these people who are investing in her need to understand that they’re giving her more reason to believe she actually brings something to the table, when her lyrics are really basic and quite lame.

“Nowadays I’m feeling like ‘Fuck a hater feelings’, ’cause they got me fucked up like sex on a ceiling”, you know, those type of punchlines that don’t really make sense.

And people think that it’s anger when I express this, but it’s just that I like to discuss rap artists and what’s going on in the culture. I don’t mean no malice.

    [Reply]

    Iconic Iggy Reply:

I listen to Biggie, Nas, T.I, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Yelawolf, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, MGK, A$AP Rocky, and some Lil Kim. What I find innovative about her is her true artistic ability that most casual listeners don’t see. If you ever see her drawings on Instagram you know what I mean. She has a creative mind. The whole idea behind Ignorant Art and TrapGold I found refreshing because no other female rapper is doing that these days. Most just drop a mix tape without having any direction or vision in mind. And from each project of music she’s grown. Ignorant Art had more old school and new school type hip-hop and was grimy and urban. Glory was more polished hip-hop and TrapGold was electronic and dirty.

    [Reply]

    Wtf Reply:

@Iconic Iggy, I agree with the above comment from Chloe, iggy is a nice girl, good head on her shoulders but her writing really isn’t on par with a lot of other up and coming rappers right now, not nearly as creative, diverse or intelligent, whether she’s purposefully dumbing down I don’t know, and like Chloe said I don’t hate the girl I just really strongly feel her lyrics and flow do not match, in any way shape or form, up and comers such as Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, IAmSu, Big K.R.I.T, joey bada$$, lyricists whose level I don’t think she could touch unless she had a ghost writer. Its very frustrating, but hey. Some people clearly dig her stereo typical ratchet songs

    [Reply]

    Chloé Magnolia Reply:

It’s not that people don’t see her artistic ability, it’s just that people like myself feel that she cannot articulate her ideas in her music. In other words, we’re not convinced. As for Ignorant Art, her explanation for the concept of that mixtape sounded fascinating, yet the actual material on there was super generic and not thought-provoking at all. “Drop It”, “Pu$$y”, “You”… The standard song about making it rain in the club, the standard song about (oral) sex and the standard song about love. Her concepts do not come to live. TrapGold was just a lot of the same thing, but I agree she improved her skills on that mixtape a bit. Yet, still a dull project with very played-out subject matters. The only thing that is not mediocre about her work are her looks and her visuals. Both “Work” and “Bounce” were dope music videos, but that’s about it. And to recur to the other rappers you listed, don’t you feel that they make Iggy sound like an amateur if you compare them? But, anyway, I’ve said pretty much all that I had to say. Thanks for being so cool about it! I can always appreciate a friendly back-and-forth, haha.
