Robin Thicke

It took 10 years, but Robin Thicke finally has his first No. 1 album. The R&B singer’s sixth album Blurred Lines enters atop the Billboard 200 this week.

Propelled by the chart-topping hit of the same name, the project sold 177,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan (via Billboard).

It also marks the biggest debut of his career, surpassing 2008’s Something Else, which opened at No. 3 with 137,000.

The Pharrell and T.I.-assisted single has remained No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks and has become the second-biggest-selling song of the year behind Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop.”

Jay-Z sits at No. 3 with Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which drops one spot with 62,000 (down 20%).

Other debuts this week include Tech N9ne’s Something Else at No. 4 (58,000) and Backstreet Boys’ In a World Like This at No. 5 (48,000).
