Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco always knows how to stir controversy. The Chi-town rapper, who is readying his new album Tetsuo & Youth, tackles faith on his new song “#DopeFrancis (American Trap),” produced by Mr. Inkredible. He compares the dope game to religion, rapping, “God is dope, 100 bricks.”

    … is this a joke?
    … is he stretching out words like Nicki Minaj?
    … is he off-beat on purpose?

    I’m confused.

    Dope Francsis = Pope Francis (the current pope)
    Drug Cartels = Priests
    Drug Dealers = The Vatican or Church
    Drugs = God
    Drug World= corrupt
    Religon= Corrupt

    I hope this helps you understand Lupe’s provocative symbolism. Anyways, God is great. Praise be to him. God is pure & sacred.
