We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore. Lady Gaga followed the yellow brick road right back to “Good Morning America” on Monday. After premiering the “Applause” video on air last month, the pop superstar channeled Dorothy during her Wizard of Oz-themed set.

With her very own Toto in her lap, she performed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” before bursting into her hit single “Applause.” She transformed the soundstage into Oz, running through multiple costume changes as the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man danced alongside her. Her Little Monsters also got in on the act, dressing as poppy flowers.

“I think it really is an explanation in a way for my entire career so far,” Gaga said of her theatrical performance. “It’s like my way of saying all of these outfits and all of these wigs that I’ve been changing over the years, this is my way of assimilating and this is my way of surviving. This is my way of getting to Oz to have all my dreams come true.”

She also sat down with Robin Roberts to discuss her upcoming album ARTPOP, due Nov. 11. “I’m feeling so positive and healed in a lot of ways and I feel really overjoyed and full of love and I’m obsessed with making things colorful and happy,” said Gaga. “I think it’s because I’m in a happy place so when I’m in a happy place the music is.”
