New Music: Mary J. Blige – ‘A Mary Christmas’ [Album Snippets]

A Mary Christmas

Mary J. Blige has a gift for her fans this holiday season. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has unwrapped the star-studded tracklisting for her first-ever Christmas album.

Blige joins forces with David Foster, the Grammy-winning producer behind multi-platinum Christmas albums for Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion.

The album features soulful interpretations of classic holiday tunes including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “The Christmas Song.” She duets with Barbra Streisand on “When You Wish Upon a Star” and Jessie J on “Do You Hear What I Hear,” while The Clark Sisters join Blige on “The First Noel” and Marc Anthony guests on “Noche de Paz.”

“The past few months have been such an amazing time for me, the highlight being my work with David Foster,” said Blige. “I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to make this soulful and classic Christmas album with David. David’s music has touched so many talented artists and I am grateful to be a part of this collaboration. I am so proud of what we created and I believe my fans will love the album as much as I do.”

    @Julian,
    Hi Julian, YES she gotta pay Uncle Sam 3.4 million. All over the net. However who says that she hasn’t paid it already. And if you go to her Instagram ” brooklynnblige” you’ll see Mary J chillin’ on a yacht in Italy. Not to many broke people can do that, and that was just last month. Hmmm, no signs of a broke a woman to me, b.i.t.c.h.

    I usually hate Christmas time mostly ’cause of the Christmas music. But I must admit I can’t wait for this new Christmas album from Mary J. Blige. I hope it is available for pre-order soon.

    I can’t picture Mary J. Blige singing “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” but OK then! I can’t even listen to these snippets right now because they will put me in the mood for Christmastime but once Halloween is over, I will definitely check this album out!!!

    Definitely a buy! I’ve been a fan for 25 years, and I still cant picture her singing about “Rudolph” because she’s so real and well….Rudolph is not…lol. But I am interested in every other song, especially Clark sisters collabo. Im sure this will be the most ‘soulful’ Christmas album in years. Yes Mary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mary J Blige is signed to a Multi Million dollar recording contract with Geffen records she is supposed to release a album every 2 years but since Rnb sales are down right now especially for her, she decided to release a christmas album instead while she think about what her fans want from her as for rnb. because with her last two cds flopping she wants to make another hit sometimes that takes time so in the meantime enjoy the damn christmas cd i hope it sells good i estimate her next rnb cd will be out next summer of 2014.
