The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2

Justin Timberlake delivered this year’s biggest comeback and best-selling album with The 20/20 Experience. On Sept. 30, he returns with the second half, 2 of 2. With Timbaland at the helm once again, he crafts 11 new tracks, which feature a darker tone than his March release.

In addition to the singles “Take Back the Night” and “TKO,” he enlists Drake for “Cabaret” and Jay Z on “Murder.”

“The songs that I released in March just reminded me of summertime a little bit more and the songs that are coming out this month felt a little darker so they made me feel like the fall/winter collection,” Timberlake told Ryan Seacrest.

Thanks to iTunes, you can now stream the entire album a week in advance. Hit the jump for the link.

    MeeMee Reply:

@Yeezus Christ, cause its all the same song. I am a huge JT fan, but is no one seeing that his songs are starting to sound the same. Like 3 albums deep. He is better than that, starting to seem like he is a little lazy.

@MeeMee, People like buying the same song over and over again. Plus, JT is in his 30s but lyrics are very NSYNC.

Dude the best song is the last song on the album – Not A Bad Thing. Fire. sounds like Benny Blanco made the beat.

Every other song is so computerized by Timbaland, and follows the same super-electronic over produced format, with exception to Take Back the Night.

JT sounds best on non electronic tracks like Cry Me a River, Senorita, Like I Love You, My Love was good. Again I like Take Back the Night.

My beef is with Timbaland’s major electronic techno ass sounds where a whole CD can start sounding like the same damn song. He did this on Jay-Z’s Holy Grail album. The only songs on that CD that sounded different were Holy Grail and Fu*kWitMeYou… Timbaland was better with the Aaliyah heavy bass tight drum beats. Albums that are truly classics have many different flavors of songs, like fucking Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Nobody is talking about Jay’s album anymore. I hope they can turn around the way they’re making this music just a wee bit.

Still a few good joints on this album though.

@stephenc, You’re wright but let’s be honest this album sounds like it was done in a day,the first one was well worked on

    stephenc Reply:

@nick, it probably was done in a day. He should remix Not a Bad Thing with Jay-Z and have them spin it on the radio. It’d be cool to hear Jay on a track like that.

MCHG is the best produced rap album this year behind Yeezus.

    Jay-Z’s rapping was average

@troof, No Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name will be once its released October 8th. No album is beating MNIMN as far as production goes not even Magna Carta Holy Grail.

I’m impressed. After the first listen I think Part 1 is better but I think you can tell there is a slight difference in the sound of both. This one does sound a bit darker.
