Teyana Taylor Calls Rihanna a 'Cyber Bully'

Rihanna and Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor and Rihanna had the Twittersphere on fire with their heated exchange of words. A day after the headline-making feud, the G.O.O.D. Music singer called into Hot 97 to share her side of the story.

Teyana was in the studio when someone alerted her to the video, which shows Rihanna’s hairstylist performing a parody of Teyana’s “Caught Up in the Rapture” cover.

“I’m not following her on Instagram so I didn’t get the chance to see it, so I went to Twitter, someone sent me the video, and I just thought it was really harsh,” she said. “It’s like you gotta sing ‘Caught Up in the Rapture’ with big hair, a snapback and some Jordans on, and I just sung that a week ago. It ain’t no coincidink. … She knew what she was doing.”

Her timeline was filled with cruel messages from Rihanna’s Navy. “I think her fans allow and they condone her behavior and she does this to everybody,” said Teyana. “It’s not always fun and games all the time. You do it, you get away with it. You tried me. You clapped and I clapped back. That’s what that was. You didn’t think that it would go as far as it did, but you can’t do that to everybody. Sometimes you’re gonna bark up the wrong tree.”

While she gave her props, she called her out for being a mean girl. “I do think she’s a cyber bully. I think she has dope music. I’m not no hater, dope music is dope music. She’s a pretty girl, but that don’t mean that you can just bully anybody. It don’t work like that.”

Rihanna posted a photo from a website comparing the singers’ net worth. It showed her at $90 million vs. Teyana’s $500,000.

“We all know that those websites are inaccurate,” said Teyana. “This girl that’s worth $90 million went all the way online to find the lowest net worth, which was false. You had time to go on Google, you had time to fix up pictures, you had time to make me your main picture, but yet you tweet, ‘I’m not gonna @ her. I’m not gonna make her famous.’ At the end of the day, I work hard, my shit is gon’ pop regardless. This wasn’t no publicity stunt. Clearly I was on her brain for her to even be making fun of me.”
