JoJo Covers Aaliyah’s ‘Rock the Boat’

JoJo showed up and showed out during the second stop of her West Coast tour at L.A.’s Tru Hollywood on Thursday. Following a sexified set from Leah LaBelle, the 22-year-old pop powerhouse took fans on a journey through her nearly decade-long career.

During the hour-long set, she belted out her classics “Leave (Get Out)” and “Too Little Too Late” as well as fan favorites including her remix to “Marvin’s Room” and the seductive “Demonstrate.”

She commanded a cover of Sade’s “The Sweetest Taboo” and paid homage to the late Aaliyah with “Rock the Boat,” while the sold-out crowd grooved along.

The tour continues tonight in Oakland before traveling to Sacramento, Portland, and Seattle.

last night was on point. minus the venue not knowing how to handle a live show that wasn’t a dj and the fact that the sound people didn’t know what they were doing.

poor leah had to fight through messed up sound that they almost completely fixed before jojo came out but it still wasn’t perfect.

anyway, leah murdered a cover of that swedish house mafia song and sexify and jojo murdered virtually everything. love these girls

so murdering music is a compliment??? only a sick mind could equate something good with murder, so you are NOT qualified to critique anything. she didnt perform that aaliyah song well at all. the song wasn’t great even when it came out.
