Jay Z Kicks Off ‘Magna Carter World Tour’ in the U.K.

Jay Z

Jay Z landed in the U.K. for the launch of his “Magna Carter World Tour.” The Roc Nation mogul, who graces the latest cover of Vanity Fair, performed two back-to-back shows at Manchester’s Phones 4 U Arena on Thursday and Friday.

With Timbaland by his side, he delivered his classics including “Empire State of Mind” and “99 Problems” as well as his latest material off his No. 1 album Magna Carta… Holy Grail.

At one point, he handed the stage over to Timbo, who entertained the crowd with his biggest hits, and performed his verse off Drake’s “Pound Cake” for the first time.

The tour travels to France, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, and Germany through the end of October before making its way to the U.S. on Nov. 30.

Check out some footage from the opening nights below.

@meme, girl get out of here … back to square one? justin timberlake did a radio interview a week ago promoting the 20/20 part 2 & he confirmed that b’s project is almost wrapped. he cowrote a couple of songs for her, they dueted together on one & timbaland is handling the production for the album. speculation is saying a single will be released in a matter of days but i doubt especially since the other talk is that the album will be released in january.

@karamelkisses, p.s. it’s hard to record in the midst of performing on a sold out world tour.

@Yea, rihanna what? let’s NOT do a comparison because it will not end well. rihanna’s tour was not sold out like the mrs. carter show hence the demand for a second leg. for rihanna’s show, when she DID manage to show up according to the fans on twitter, the vine & facebook … she was either drunk, high or lip syncing at several shows. matter of fact, one of my friends who lives in poland was given a couple of tickets to her show & said she showed up 50 minutes late. when she got on stage, she was booed or people were chanting beyonce. so yes, it’s hard to record in the midst of a sold out tour. #GOODbye

i wouldn’t pay $5 to see this fake. That holy grail song has 30 seconds of his hideous rap, and was all justin timberlake, yet he takes credit.
