Drake, Macklemore, & Robin Thicke to Perform at Grammy Nominations Concert

Grammy season is kicking off with some help from Drake. The “Started From the Bottom” rapper has been announced as a performer for the nominations special.

In addition to Drizzy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Robin Thicke, and Keith Urban are the first acts announced to perform on “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night.”

LL Cool J will return to host the one-hour special, which airs live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Friday, Dec. 6. Nominations in several categories will be announced during the show, airing at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the weeks ahead.

Drake won his first Grammy for Best Rap Album for Take Care earlier this year, while his newest album Nothing Was the Same is eligible for next year’s awards.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 26, 2014.

Yawn… the Grammy’s is a rigged piece of shit award show.

  2. Dan

I thought the Grammy deadline was always 8/31? How is Drake eligible for 2014? Either way, Kendrick wins Best Hip-Hop Album, the end.

    @Dan, Nope September Is

    Dan Reply:

@OnlyChrisJ, Wierd, because I remember back in ’09, both Whitney Houston and Trey Songz released their albums by August 31st to be eligible for the 2010 Grammys? I wonder if that changes year-to-year? Either way, Eminem won’t be eligible until 2015 at this point. Still a loaded year for the hip-hop category.

@Dan, it changes every year depending on when the date of the Grammy airs…and OF COURSE Ryan & Mack will win…smh

  3. Andy

lot of competition in hip hop this year. Kanye, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Big Sean, Wale. All of them are eligible.

    JHP Reply:

@Andy, You can go ahead and count J. Cole, Big Sean, and Wale out. I liked all their albums, especially Born Sinner, but they ain’t winning. It comes down to Jay, Kendrick, Kanye, & Drake. K-Dot easily had the best album of them all, but the grammys are notorious for riding Jay & Ye’s d**ks, so I don’t know.

    Dan Reply:

@JHP, J. Cole deserves to be nominated, he lyrically brought it on Born Sinner. As for Kanye, they could give him whatever nominations they want, just not Best Hip-Hop album. There were too many great hip-hop albums in the past year that deserve to be recognized, and Yeezus was simply not “hip-hop” enough. There’s only 5 spots for that category, and Kendrick, Drake, Jay-Z, J. Cole, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis should be the nominees.

  4. Realistically

LOL. You are all wrong. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will win the Grammy Award for Best Hip-Hop Album for what might be the biggest upset in Grammy history. Be prepared.

  5. K O B E

Yeah Macklemore has a high chance to win this, which is stupid. Kendrick or Kanye deserve to win this year. Yeezus should get AOTY.

  6. Feez

Last year the grammys had 6 nominees. This year I expect the same. My predictions are:
    Nominees for Best Rap Album
    1. Kendrick Lamar-Good Kid Maad City
    2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis- The Heist
    3. Drake- NWTS
    4. Kanye West-Yeezus ( if they consider it under Rap)
    5. J.Cole-Born Sinner
    6. Can either be between Jay Z ( because the Grammys love him regardless), Wale, or Big Sean

@Feez, lol people, drake is not eligible for this year…..get that through your heads
