New Music: Lady Gaga f/ R. Kelly – ‘Do What U Want’

Do What U Want

Lady Gaga gets down and dirty with R. Kelly on “Do What U Want,” their highly-anticipated collaboration off ARTPOP. The pop superstar and R&B kingpin duet on the electro-infused song, produced by DJ White Shadow (“Applause”).

“You can’t stop my voice ’cause you don’t own my life/ But do what you want with my body,” sings Gaga, while Kellz responds, “I can be the drink in your cup/ I can be the green in your blunt/ Your pusher man.”

A new ARTPOP track will be released each Monday leading up to the release of the album on Nov. 11.

Lady Gaga shoulda chose Chris Brown on this track and thats not because i’m a CB fan. Just the track & Vid would be EPIC

@Good, yeah Chris Brown would have probably been a better choice, if for no other reason than how well his voice would have blended with the production.

    KING Reply:

@Good, Are you sick in the head? He would’ve ruined the song + he’s trash. No one wants to work with him

The King R. Kelly was perfect.

    Brian Reply:

@KING, He was not. Chris, Usher etc. would kill it. R. Kelly ruined the song

    D. kells Reply:

@Brian, chris brown video wise and dancing would be very nice but vocally I have to go with Kells. And once again I’m a huge Chris Brown fan but the deepness and certain tones that Kells can hit blend mych better with Gaga on this song. And as for Usher I would pick him over Chris brown because its Usher and he can dance as well and also sing better but I’m gonna stick with Kells. But that’s just my opinion we are all entitled to agree and disagree.

@Good, I guess if she wanted a dump flop with a person who can’t sing and has no talent, she would have chosen CB

Chris needs to do what Chris is doing . . . R. Kelly was the perfect choice.

It’s nice to hear a male SINGING rather than whining out some lines. Say what you will about R. Kelly but no one has ever questioned his talent.

This is actually really good :)

Why would she feature Chris Brown when R.Kelly’s voice is 100x better ? Not saying Chris voice is bad but R.Kelly is better though . I’m feeling this song a lot though !

  17. Oh_ok

I believe the reason someone said Chris should have done this is because it actually sounds EXACTLY like some shit HE would/should be singing. I mean this track is pretty cool but tbh, considering the fact that two of most talented artists EVER came together from sep genres to create a piece of work, I really expected MUCH more lyrically if nothing else. Lets not get lost in the excitement of the collaboration & dismiss the fact that there is really nothing original about this song at all.

    Disappointed.
Maybe after a few more listen I would second think the song because I was repeating the snippets non stop this past few days.

Their voices blend so very well….surprisingly. i do agree that chris voice would have fit this perfectly. but I do like kells on this tho and im not a major fan of his.

  24. D. kells

Nice song and nice vibe blended together with Gaga and Kells. The King of R&B always can deliver and if they make a video it will be nice to see. Gaga chose the right man to collaborate with. I’m so surprised there is no shade being thrown at Kells for once thank God. And as for Chris brown being the feature that may have been nice as well because I like him as well. But when it comes to choosing the top R&B King of 25+ years you go to Kells. But its always great to see two seperate genres mix together and make a nice song.

As random and strange as this collaboration is, it’s actually really really good. It’s refreshing to see Gaga make a song that isn’t some grandiose crazy weird ish for a change. And the homie Kellz definitely killed this!

First song from this girl i liked since poker face. Ooooh and R Kelly!! I love it.

Songs about critics and haters are kind of lazy and boring to me, but I like the way she spun it. I initially assumed this was a song about a submissive sex slave.

Also..R Kelly singing about “do what i want wit ya body”….the jokes write themselves

  31. Miszi

Don’t really like her music too much but this one is pretty cool. Maybe she would make a remix with Chris Brown, considering how many people think it would be a good choice. It’s not necessary though as R.Kelly sounds great on this, however it would be definately nice move.

Nah. No ma’am. I’m good. And that’s coming from a GaGa fan.
There’s nothing great about this song except for the few parts where she does the fake Christina Aguilera growl.

i am in love with her vocal delivery in this. everyone is talking about xtina growl but i’m feeling the falsetto ad libs at the beginning. reminds me of mid ninties mariah.

    this record is huge.

    [Reply]

    Artiee Reply:

@dustin, I feel the same way. Gaga’s midrange may take on a similar tone to Xtina’s at times…but in sum it sounds FAR healthier and better supported. Xtina often sounds like she’s deepthroating a chainsaw…
