Mary J. Blige

Before the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox kicked off Game 1 of the World Series, Mary J. Blige took the field to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Boston’s Fenway Park. Emotions ran high as the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul delivered a stirring rendition of the patriotic tune as jets flew overhead.

She also performed the national anthem before Game 6 of the 2009 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Her holiday album, A Mary Christmas, made its debut on the Billboard 200 this week.
