Video: Ariana Grande f/ Big Sean – ‘Right There’

Ariana Grande

Destiny awaits Ariana Grande in the Romeo and Juliet-inspired video for “Right There” featuring Big Sean. On the eve of Halloween, the 20-year-old diva throws a masquerade ball at a lavish mansion in the visuals for the third single off her debut Yours Truly. She plays Juliet, while Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick stars as Romeo.

Ariana gets dolled up in a ball gown and locks eyes with her prince when he enters the room. They share a steamy love scene in the pool, while fireworks light up the night sky.

Meanwhile, Big Sean plays the priest, spitting his holy bars in a church.

But unlike the real Romeo and Juliet, this story has a happy ending. Watch the star-crossed lovers meet in the modern-day romance.

I can’t respect her as an artist. She is trying it way to hard to be like Mariah Carey where she was very successfull. She isn’t just copying the notes… she also now copying the art of the music videos.

@Timberlake, I didn’t know she directed music videos. I had no idea her label contacted Ariana’s own creative firm to come up with a treatment and direct her own video. Those checks must be nice.

Shit was generic asf when Mariah did it. It’s still generic. Commercial radio friendly pop rarely sees innovation. Let that girl live. Not a thing new under the sun. Y’all kill me Tryna claim the most basic shit as belonging to one particular artist. Chill.

@Timberlake, Mariah Carey did not invent the ‘whistle’ note. Chante Moore can do it as well and that’s been well documented through the years. Whitney Houston could do it. There are several people who aren’t famous who can hit high pitches. You stans are taking this way too seriously, damn. It’s as if Mariah has y’all on her payroll. Ariana doesn’t give a fuck if you respect her or not, the bitch is on tv, has a hit album and is getting paid. What are you doing other than hating?

They seriously believe the whistle note is everything that made Mariah famous?
Have they ever heard her first two legendary albums?
The visual concept is all over the place stolen from Mariah (the dumb and contreived expressions, horrific hair and make up and fake Mariah-esque voice)
to Madonna (The legendary devine MTV awardsVogue performance) and Xtina Aguilera ( What a girl wants mood).
    What a mess!
Watered down Mariah to the last drop!
The girl can maybe sing but whoever advices her should be shot in the head!
Is the new generation of music buyers as dumb as this video calims them to be?

I love this girl. Amazing voice. Fav song. To the commenter above…yes she does have a similar voice to Mariah Carey but she’s growing into her own style. She’s still young and still finding herself. Stop being negative
