Rap-Up TV: K. Michelle Re-Ups with ‘Rebellious Soul’ Christmas

K. Michelle has been packing venues on her first headlining tour. Rap-Up TV caught up with the R&B songstress backstage during the second stop of her “Rebellious Soul” tour at L.A.’s House of Blues this week.

“It’s really amazing because when they said I was doing a tour on my own I got scared,” she said. “I was like, ‘No one’s gonna be there.’ So for both nights to be wall-to-wall, it’s been ridiculous and very humbling.”

The tour also features Sevyn Streeter and Tiara Thomas, the latter of which will join her in Dallas on Nov. 11. “Female artists can be very catty, and I wanted to do some newbies that could really bring something to the table,” she said of her supporting acts. “Tiara Thomas, we both have the same manager and her writing is amazing. And Sevyn is one of the best new writers that I’ve heard.”

After topping the charts with her debut Rebellious Soul, the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star is planning to release a Christmas version of her album just in time for the holidays.

“There’s gonna be a Rebellious Soul, it kinda is like Christmas,” she revealed. “I didn’t want to do a full out Christmas album, I don’t know if I’m a Christmas artist right now, but I wanted to give out a gift to my fans for Christmas.”

The re-release, tentatively due later this month, will include two original songs and three Christmas covers including her soulful remake of “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

Ummm why is she re-releasing her album when it just came out in August!? And adding Christmas songs? she’s trying to be like Tamar Braxton clearly BYE KMART

Well, Tamar released a standalone Christmas album and even so, she doesn’t own the right to release Christmas music.

However, I agree with you about adding Christmas songs to a re-release. That’s just tacky.

I am so proud of KMichelle!!! Keep working hard and grinding!!!! She is TRULY PEOPLE’S CHAMP! People tried to count her, saying this and saying that, but look at GOD. She writes/composes/arranges her OWN music and brings in full bands when she’s ready to record. LOVE IT!!!!

KMichelle was the first one to say something about releasing “Christmas” Rebellious Soul way before Tamar ever thought about it. So, how can she be trying to be like ‘anyone’ else?

P.S. just like someone said, Tamar doesn’t have a right to trying to be releasing “Christmas” music, let alone a ‘full’ Christmas CD. IJS

She’s currently headlining her OWN tour, so again, folks can say this and that, but they will NEVER be able to take away her GOD GIVEN talent as a TRUE musician as she does it ALL….LITERALLY. She writes, produces, arranges the layout for every song, brings in live bands, then records LIVE (no pre-recorded tracks), and of course a classical TRAINED pianist and singer as well. She is DEDICATED to her craft in every sense of the word!!! SO proud of KMichelle!!!! :)

I just wanted to say congrats K Michelle on your hard work, I went to your Kansas City show and it was AMAZING!!! I’m really getting tired of people say youre “trying” to be like Tamar when you announced you were releasing your christmas album first. I like both Tamar/K Michelle but these fans take sh*t to far and should stay inside their lane. I wish nothing but the best for you K. Coming to see you again in Ohio.

I liked the “Rebellious Soul” album. Though I can’t relate to much of anything because I’ve never been through much of the things she sings about (thank God) but the album was solid and her voice was strong and colorful. I don’t think I’ll be buying a re-release though with only 5 added songs and only a small amount being actual Christmas songs. I think it would mess up the mood somewhat. I wish her good luck though.
