Eminem brought the nostalgia when he performed “Stan” for BBC Radio 1. Backed by a band, the blond rapper worked up a sweat while delivering the 2000 classic off his pivotal album The Marshall Mathers LP. He reflected on recording the MMLP2 sequel “Bad Guy” during his interview with Zane Lowe.
“I had heard a lot of chatter right around the time of doing the Recovery record that I should do ‘Stan 2,’” he said. “All I kept thinking was, well Stan’s dead. He died in the story. So in the back of my mind, I kinda had an idea of like who could be left from the story, but I needed to get the right beat.”
He also sat down for the fourth part of his interview with Lowe, where he discussed touring and the future.
“I don’t know what the plan is in the near future, but I do know there’s gonna be some other things coming up, other projects and things like that I’ll probably get into working on,” he said. “Whatever point I decide I’m gonna put the mic down, or whatever happens with that, I do feel like I always want something to do with the music, whether it’s producing or whatever ends up happening.”
