Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar Preview New Song in Beats by Dre Ad

Kendrick Lamar

Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar are adding some boom to the holidays. The hip-hop icon and his protégé cook up a new collaboration in a commercial for Beats by Dr. Dre.

The West Coast kingpins hit the studio at 4 a.m. to work on a new track, but Kendrick is just not feeling it, so they decide to break and resume later. The “Poetic Justice” MC takes a trip to the barbershop to play the new song on his Pill speaker, while Dre listens to it at home on his Pill XL.

After figuring out what’s missing from the track, Dre gives Kendrick a call and they get back to work. Dre adds some drums and K-Dot lays down some fiery bars to complete the song.

Get a taste of their explosive collabo below.

UPDATE: The three-minute director’s cut has been added.
