Single Cover: Shakira f/ Rihanna – ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You’

Can't Remember to Forget You

With four days to go until the song premieres, Shakira has revealed the sexy cover art for her collaboration with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember to Forget You.” The Barbados beauty lies down in front of the Colombian bombshell, whose rests her hand on RiRi’s shoulder.

“Only FOUR days until ‘Can’t Remember To Forget You’ with @rihanna !! Here’s the single artwork…. #soexcited,” tweeted Shakira.

In an interview with Glamour magazine, Shakira spoke about working with Rihanna. “We’ve been keeping it under secret [the collaboration], but we just shot the video. I never thought we could come together—with me on ‘The Voice’; taking care of my baby, Milan; Rihanna touring,” she said.

“But working with her was utopia. She’s the cutest woman on the planet. And at the end of the day, we’re both basically Caribbean girls. The chemistry was so good. She taught me dance moves. She was a sweet teacher.”

The song, which premieres January 13, is the first single from Shakira’s upcoming album, due in early 2014 on RCA/Sony Latin Iberia.

So let me start out by saying this is my first post here on rapup.com. i have been observing how alot of people seem to seemingly for no reason hate on a post but now i just want to say please keep doing, here me out. if it wasn’t for the hate and the negative backlash artist like rihanna, shakira, beyonce etc.. face they would have less drive. you see your hate and you forcing rivalry between them all is what pushes them to make such good music. with that said i hope this single is everything i want and more :)

Beyoncé and the #beatifulliars Shakira & Rihanna they team up because they jealous to Beyoncé! Remember Beyonce was you role model snitches! BEYONCE IS THE QUEEN OF MUSIC NO MATTER.

love this true words! Beyonce work very hard for her success she is the last true musican (with Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson & Alicia Keys) who makes real good Hip Hop & Popmusic.

@True Talk, LMFAO. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Bey is an inspiration to Rihanna, why would she copy her? You are jealous that these 2 Queens teamed up and will outsold Beyonce’s current singles.

Ill be honest, im not %100 on board with this collab. I love the fact that rihanna can work with basically any artist of different genre and effordlessly produce a killer record but I feel like some artist dont fit together.

Ill make my final judgement once Ive heard the record and saw the video to see if their chemistry work. I have no doubt the record will sound amazing tho because rihanna never touches anything that isnt massive.

@meme, I don’t know who the hell you think you are. You obviously don’t know how big Shakira’s fanbase is nor how dehydrated they are for her return. The song could sound like absolute shit and I guarantee you it will still smash the Latin & Top 100 iTunes and Billboard charts. Long story short – we don’t care if you’re 100% on board with the collaboration or not and I’m pretty damn sure neither of them of the opinions of the doubters who’ve yet to even hear the song. And the damn word is EFFORTLESSLY – with a T.

And @Ivan, nobody was talking about how the song will do in charts or sales. Disappear please.

kudos to rihanna in the pic she looks nice, but idk about this cause I can’t take both Rihanna and Sharika’s vocal by theirselves and now on a track…. Idk…. I stick to artists like Beyonce, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Aaliyah, Mary Jane Blige, and ect

    [Reply]

    karamelkisses Reply:

@MusicStan, i understand what you’re saying because they both have accents (shakira’s is heavy) so either of them solo on a track has that nails on a chalkboard feel (for me which i can only take in small doses). but to have them both on a track together? it’s an interesting collab, i’ll reserve judgement until i hear it.

    [Reply]

    karamelkisses Reply:

@karamelkisses, p.s rihanna really needs to start saying no to some of these collab requests. she’s starting to take on that chris brown, nicki minaj stigma … just on a track even though it makes no sense, a dime a dozen. your feature is only special when it rarely occurs.

    [Reply]

    meme Reply:

@karamelkisses, i disagree. Actually rihanna collabs are always a success. TI, EM, Drake, JZ, Maroon 5. I think its good that she collab and not stuck up about working with other artist like Beyonce is.

    [Reply]

    karamelkisses Reply:

@meme, i never mentioned if they were successes or failures. i said that it’s getting to be overkill and like chris brown or nicki minaj, she’s just on any & everybody’s song. quite frankly, i think she should be a little more selective like beyonce or justin timberlake … she has a brand to protect & and just jumping on tracks for the sake of is useless. by the way, they ALL weren’t successes … the remix to bad girl w/ wale was bad & the collab w/ coldplay was even worse.

I LOVE Shakira & Rihanna and they’re both giving me everything that I need this morning!!! I cannot wait to hear “Can’t Remember To Forget You”, I haven’t been this excited about a Shakira record since “Hips Don’t Lie (with: Wyclef Jean)” and we all know how big of a success that single was for her and Wyclef Jean… P.S. Shakira & Rihanna LOVES Beyoncé and Beyoncé also LOVES them too; So, no hatred from neither side just a little friendly competion.

I’m mad at the Bey comparisons, but I knew they were coming.
Rih always brings #1 singles, and Shakira has a huge fan base, so I can’t wait to see what this will do sale wise.
I agree with all the commentaries tho, like us Bey fans prob will get shady if this goes #1 b4 a Bey track does. But #1 songs are NOT always good songs. They are just catchy.

Kesha & Pitbull song is catchy as hell, but its a terrible song. seriously.
