New Music: Ellie Goulding f/ Angel Haze – ‘Life Round Here’

Ellie Goulding and Angel Haze

Angel Haze links with British songbird Ellie Goulding on a cover of James Blake’s “Life Round Here,” produced by Noah Breakfast. Ellie adds her haunting vocals, while Angel brings some grittiness to the remake, which originally debuted on BBC Radio 1.

Plus, watch Angel spit a nearly six-minute freestyle over Eminem’s “Rap God” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” during her visit to Tim Westwood’s Capital XTRA show.

I LOVE Ellie Goulding and Angel Haze!!! And I Prefer This Cover Over The Original!!! E.G.’s sultry and raspy smooth vocal tone is so sexy and A. Haze’s hardcore, but yet aggressive edge rap will always be a killer!!! I’m in awe!!!

@Free Spirit, Bitch, you tried it. Cover isn’t bad, but the original is far superior. The original is so seamlessly composed that I can’t help but feel that this one sounds a little choppy and unnecessary. No love lost for Angel. She’s a bad bitch, but these covers need to stop, shouldn’t she be promoting her album? Hmmm?

@Oh, Leave it to you to make this about Nicki; just own up to your repressed love for her, and you’ll become a much happier person. No hate for Angel, but it looked as if her freestyles were pre – written. She was clearly reading off of her phone for some of them, but her Shabba flow was undeniably brilliant. I have stated several times that I’m an Angel supporter so don’t respond to me as if I’m not. In fact, don’t respond to my posts at all unless you’re planning on addressing something relevant within the post.

It’s strange – I like Ellie Goulding’s music, but at the same time, I often find her voice annoying. I listen to her a lot, but in small doses. The good part is that it’s different.

The singing was good until the rapping came in, which I just did not feel (but I may just be tired of rapping being put in everything – not every song needs it, nor is enhanced by it). I don’t even compare this to James Blake’s. It’s just different.
