Pharrell and His Hat Step Out to Oscar Nominee Luncheon
All eyes were on Pharrell and his famous hat while attending the 86th Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton on Monday. In addition to rocking the grey Vivienne Westwood creation, the Grammy-winning producer completed his casual look with jeans and drawn-on adidas Stan Smith sneakers.
He mingled with his fellow nominees including Sandra Bullock and posed for the annual Oscar nominee portrait alongside Lupita Nyong’o and Cate Blanchett.
Earlier in the morning, the “Happy” hitmaker appeared on “KTLA Morning News,” where he discussed his Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “Happy” from Despicable Me 2.
“I did nine songs trying to get it right,” said Pharrell. “It was only until I ran out of ideas is when I was able to ask myself one more time with a clear mind ’cause I had no more ideas. It was like, ‘Man, how do I write a song about this guy just being happy and just being in this relentless mood?’ And there was the answer in the question.”
He will perform his top 10 hit at the Oscars on March 2.
