Tracklisting: Young Money – ‘Rise of an Empire’

Rise of an Empire

It’s a family reunion. Young Money gets back together for its second compilation, Rise of an Empire. Due March 11, the follow-up to 2009′s gold-selling We Are Young Money features 12 tracks from YMCMB’s all-stars including Drake, Nicki, Lil Wayne, Tyga, Lil Twist, Birdman, Christina Milian, Shanell, Chanel West Coast, and more.

In addition to the singles “We Alright” and “Senile,” Drake contributes the Hit-Boy-produced anthem “Trophies” and Nicki spits fire on the explosive “Lookin Ass.”

“We are in a great space. I think the whole team collectively just feels so together right now,” Nicki told Angie Martinez. “We all kinda just wanna win. We just workin’, no bad blood, no bad vibes at all.”

It’s official; Jae Millz, Shanell, and the other ones with potential (which YMCMB is leavin’ on the shelf) need to ask for their release ASAP.

I don’t know why they’re still on the label…maybe Birdman pays magazines, radio & video to blacklist artists who’ve left Cash Money (after seeing how much better Juvenile & BG’s singles did on the charts than anything from Carter 1 or 2)

    Oh Reply:

@Shutterbug, I guess Nicki and Drake dont really F with YM like they claim they do, cant even get both of them on the same song

I thought Nicki Minaj said Lookin Ass was only a freestyle and was not going to be released as the reason for using Malcolm X’s art as the cover. I hope the Malcolm Estate sue her conniving a**.

@Yolanda, she said it wouldn’t released as a SINGLE, damn ya’ll are pressed.

@Yolanda, You sound like an idiot, the song was released before the controversial photo was. FYI: she said the song will not be released as a SINGLE and the photo was not official cover art.

    Ahahaha Reply:

@Yolanda, first of all she never said that ..she said the cover wasnt the official single cover and wasnt the official single ..she just put it out get ya facts straight

I love YMCMB, but this album seems a bit rushed and thrown together. Drakes “Trophies” was supposed to be on his own album but it didn’t make the cut., and Nicki’s “Lookin Ass” was obviously a song made to give her buzz while we wait on her album. They both aren’t songs that were made or good enough for there own albums but they threw them on this one. It’s like they are putting scraps on this to say that they came out with an album. I guess we will have to see what the other songs sound like.

@Nick, Uhm how many times must she say Lookin Ass and Senile will both be on her album too?

    Andy Reply:

@DON, the necessary times to make me feel is a good idea! It feels like not even their own label or Birdman can afford a song by Nicki and Drake.

Absolutely agree about the album feeling rushed. It’s not really a great example of team album because they’re just throwing songs together. Nicki even said in an interview that she didn’t want to record a whole new song so she just gave them “Lookin Ass” off her own album.

Love Nicki, but she probably shouldn’t have said that. It makes the album seem so sloppy.

@Fax,well drake didn’t even make a new song he just gave them a song that wasn’t good enough to be on is album. at least Nicki thought Lan was good enough to be on her album,so she gave it to them. she didn’t gave them a song she thought wasn’t good enough. i don’t know what is going on with drake and the team but he could have at least jump on that senile track with Nicki and wayne. now thats something to feel some type of way about.

@K, Oh shush, how do you know that Drake said Trophies wasn’t good enough to be on his album. He’s never implied that.

    Mandela Barb Reply:

@Nick, Drake didn’t include trophies on his album for the sake of cohesion. It’s not that it “wasn’t good enough”.

I guess this album is to showcase the talent of the Young Money members who are not so popping. Neither Drake or Nicki need this album.

I was hoping for a Drake, Wayne and Nicki joint but it seems that these three don’t have time for each other anymore.

  9. DON

I was hoping for a Nicki, Drake and Wayne song too but Nicki did say she wasn’t trying to do too many songs for the compilation. Anyways , I’ll pass.

12 tracks that’s it?! I hope there is a deluxe edition with a few more songs because with 12 it really seems rushed and thrown together, how can you have so much talent under one label and only come up with 12 songs? I hope this changes before March 11 or I will be disappointed as all hell.

ok why is Mystikal not on this album? And when will he actually drop an album? And didn’t Game sign with cash money as well. Why does Birdman keep leaving out some of the best lyricist on cash money? ok I like Drake, Wayne, Nick I is cool but I need him to highlight Game and Mystikal as well. Since Mystikal got out of jail we may have heard a few somgs, Where is the album and why are they not pushing him or showcasing him?

    [Reply]

    lance Reply:

@d. kells, the album is called “Young Money: Rise of an Empire” obviously they are showcasing “Young Money” artists cause its a “Young Money” album

Notices drake and Wayne are not on a song together… I keep telling y’all that ym is not seeing eye to eye.. This album was just thrown together for quick money and to make us believe everything is ok… All great groups end up breaking up… Drake and nicki need to just leave… No other real talent there. Busts them don’t count they legends
