New Music: Jennifer Lopez f/ French Montana – ‘I Luh Ya Papi’

I Luh Ya Papi

Jenny has the block on lock. Following “Same Girl” and “Girls,” Jennifer Lopez unleashes her French Montana-assisted single “I Luh Ya Papi,” which premiered on Power 106′s “New at 2″ show with Yesi Ortiz. J.Lo professes her love to her man on the Detail-produced song.

“I put it down for a brother like you, give it to you right in the car that’s you,” she sings.

She recently shot a video for the song in Miami with director Jessy Terrero. There are also two additional versions featuring Big Sean and Tyga.

Her upcoming 10th album marks a return to her roots. While she didn’t reveal a release date, she did say that she has to turn in the album by March 17.

“My roots are hip-hop, my roots are R&B, my roots are pop, my roots are Latin,” said J.Lo. “All that always comes out in my records. I’ve always found that when I follow my own heart, that’s when my music is the best. This album is right back to that for me.”

UPDATE: Listen to a radio rip of Big Sean’s version below.

@speechless, that’s fine but her new material does not fit her age range. Close to her mid 40s it’s bout that time to hit up babyface

wtf. The cover slays, the title slays … it fits JLo and her whole vibe, but the song itself it pretty horrendous. The video must be banging and maybe it’ll grow on me, but it’s just so generic. Not even near the works of “On the Floor” … best track of her career.

    frostyD Reply:

@ED, you like the horrible “On the Floor”??? What the f*ck are you doing on rap-up? lol ;)

    Ed Reply:

@frostyD, It’s a good dance track. It was a huge success for her too, so I think many people would agree with me. It’s my opinion anyway. Who the fuck are you. lol

”I Luh ya mommy”? ”Montana From The Block”? Is Montana really serious?! That song is weird but French Montana was an obvious wrong feature choice!

Good but not as Urban as i would have wished, its the most pop sounding single out of the 3 new singles but i like it:)

I like the beat/instrumental of the song but the lyrics could use some work. And French Montana was just unnecessary for this song

It’s different. Maybe I’m out of touch but it just sounds like a bunch of vulgarity. Like she’s been out the game and came back with vulgarity as if that’s what sudo hip hop/r&b is about. Would I wants daughter repeating these lyrics. Not at at all.

It’s not a bad song. I love the beat.

Just like I thought … I figured this would grow on me, and in fact it has. The production I actually really do like … the song as a whole isn’t anything mind-blowing, but it certainly has grown on me in a short time. “If You Had My Love”, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”, “Jenny from the Block”, “Get Right”, “Do It Well” “Que Hiciste”, “On the Floor” … “I Luh Ya Papi”.
